Guest guest
Dear FORUM, Re: /message/11437 Thanks to Mr.Ramesh Babu of Hindustan Times for the article. Mr.Ramesh Babu who gave national level media attention for the case of Bency and Benson in the earlier stages I am a person from Kollam , native district of these children. I visited Bency's house on May 07 and attended the funeral function. I know the case of these children very well from the initial stages. HLL Lifecare Limited , a PSU under MoH & FW , was doing a lot for these children. Benson and Bency were under treatment for the last 7-8 years. Various govt. bodies were meeting the expenses for treatment. The medicines used were Allopathic and was very costly. These medicines only prolongate and do not cure completly. We all know that , No treatment/medicine has found for AIDS/HIV so far in any system of medicine. We heard that Senior Ayurveda doctors of Ayurveda dept. of Keral Govt. was ready to try ayurveda treatment for these children. But the Medical bodies which are headed by allopathy doctors never allowed to try ayurveda treatment. As there is no treatment in Allopathy why not we try Ayurveda medicine ? I am not saying that Allopathy is not good. Allopathy is well advanced and good for many diseases expecially emrgency and surgery cases. But AYUSH (Ayurveda , Yoga & Naturopathy , Unani, Sidha and Homeo ) treatment may be better for some diseases Each of these system of medicine excellent treatment for certain diseses , where other systms fail. Many cancer patients who were failed in Allopathy treatment were cured/saved through Ayurveda treatment. For details visit articles on Dr.Vaidya Balendu Prakash at following links http://www.rediff.com/news/2000/jul/07jose.htm http://www.indianexpress.com/ie/daily/19970711/19250723.html http://www.cancerhope.org/prakash.htm http://www.lifepositive.com/body/body-holistic/cancer-cure/new-cancer-drugs.asp http://www.pharmabiz.com/article/detnews.asp?articleid=11266 & sectionid=42 http://www.padaav.com/vbp.html Wherever Allopathy is not successful we should try AYUSH systems. Really we should have an integrated system for treatment. When a patient comes for the treatment of a disease he should be treated with the best system of medicine suitable for that disease. Guest guest
Dear Sunil, Re: /message/11437 The problem is not whether AYUSH has a role to play in the treatment of medical conditions or not ...it lies in the the way people advocate its use in these conditions especially cancer and chronic conditions like HIV. From your letter it appeared to me ( I may be wrong ) as if you have already made a case for its use... Worrying in this context is the last line of your mail. " Many cancer patients who were failed in Allopathy treatment were cured/saved through Ayurveda treatment. " It is not uncommon to see /hear about cases where people with cancer or HIV were either promised cure, falsely diagnosed as cancer (and a cure claimed !) or were even falsely led to believe that have been cured .... In my more than 10 years of clinical experience, I have neither seen or heard of a proven case of cancer or HIV that was 'cured' by non-allopathic medicine. What is dissappointing is the reluctance on the part of practititioners of non-allopathic medicine to hold up their treatment (drugs or Rx protocols etc ) to the same rigours of scrutiny as Allopathy... In other words, most of their drugs do not go through the kind of gold standards (like RCT) that are set for allopathic drugs before they can considered for use. I am sure all forms of medicine have something to offer in terms of treatment but all the treatment given should be based on sound evidence.
