Cracked, dry heals -- Revisited

I spoke about this a few weeks ago. Someone did write me off-list at

that time, so I am hoping an update is useful to a few folks.

I wrote about it the first time after walking about 7 miles to pick my

computer up from where it was in shop, being repaired. I believe that

was back in August. My hard drive died on Monday, November 10th.

That Saturday, my oldest son and I again made the long walk to take it

for repairs. We picked it back up one week later (this past

Saturday). So if anyone has wondered at my absence, there you have

it: I had very limited internet access via my kids' Wii, which

absolutely sucks for trying to type anything.

What I have concluded is that the long walks make my feet worse. I

think the reason it makes them worse is because whatever is growing on

my soles feeds on the die-off that occurs as a result of these longs

walks. I have found that folding up paper towels into quarters,

dousing them with diet tonic water (which contains quinine), and

lining the entire of my shoes that way (two paper towels each) does

help kill the stuff on my feet. We have nicknamed this crap

" barnacles " because of what it does to my skin. After treating it

with diet tonic water (quinine), the gray-brown, rough skin begins

dying in patches, revealing that it isn't skin at all but some kind of

growth, and patches of pink, healthy skin show in between. Salt water

baths are also helping. Generally treating for die-off symptoms, like

eating more yogurt to get the yeast bloom under control, may also be

helping.

Hopefully, I won't need to make any more really long walks any time

soon and can use what I have learned recently to clear up my feet.

Peace.

Michele
