Guest guest
The consensus of my research on this led to the following conclusions: Andy had said that as long as the dmsa was not in contact with the dental metal it was fine. It should be swallowed in capsules. Not chewed. He also said that any metals that might be released were very minimal and would be removed via chelation. Nothing in relation to what we already have in the body or are getting everyday. so the benefits out weighted the risks. The only exception is: He said that if one has a nickel allergy they should not chelate with these appliances or braces on. It would make the allergy worse. That seemed to be his only reason for not chelating with braces was if the allergy existed. If it did not, he did not see a problem. After going through his old posts and talking with a few parents who already did this...and the true need to fix my kids teeth (time was running out for her age) and her toxicity in consideration...we are chelating her with her braces and Herbst appliance on. I considered stopping altogether but when we don't do rounds, she gets sick and shows signs of mercury....she does better if we continue the rounds. So for her, it's better to continue or else she'll go mad-literally. Ideally, it's going to be up to you. I can't say I'd chelate if she had four stainless caps in the mouth versus a few wires. In our case we weighted the overall benefit to the child. Otherwise, we'd have to wait 2 years before we could continue chelation. She can't go three weeks without depression, anxiety, etc. If you have not begun chelation and want to be absolutely sure nothing is pulled into the body, you'd have to wait till the expander is removed. January is not far off. If that is not the end of her " dental work " and she is going to have braces..see about 400 series stainless which is nickel free, or go with something titanium/porcelain if you can. That's the only way to be sure no nickel is going into the body. Andy was not concerned with any of the other metals in the braces other than nickel in the presence of nickel allergy. But I note that most of us eat off stainless steel pans, silver wear etc. everyday. We are all getting some nickel. Also even if you began now, whatever did get into her body will get out with continued chelation. i also talked to one mom who has not been on here in a long time who chelated both her kids all the while they went through orthodontics, braces etc with no issues. My daughter got her herbst appliance on in August and we have been doing two rounds a month since. So far no issues that we are aware of. Just that she improves on rounds. Hope that helps. You'll have to go with what your comfortable in doing. -- In , " " <tliven@...> wrote: > > I'm wanting to start my dd on ala, dmsa.
