Yep, post move quickly and sometimes we miss one...sorry.

minerals and yeast control would be the minimum. magnesium, zinc,

calcium, vitamin C, probiotics and antifungals.

We have gotten by with no selenium. But zinc and calcium essential if

your using dmsa. you want the stuff to rebuild bones when dmsa removes

lead from the bones.

Say maybe a good multi vitamin, minerals and probiotics.

Not to correct Jan, but I never heard calcium mentioned as a minimum supplement.

Was; magnesium, zinc, C and E, I thought, according to Andy. Not that calcium

isn't a good idea if your kid can take it, but not essential.

You're probably right , maybe I got that from the bottle of

dmsa, which says to give calcium and zinc with it. Who knows...

For my kid, who is full of lead, we give it since pulling all that

lead out, he'd need it for bones. But, if your child did not tolerate

it...then you can probably do just the mag/zinc/C and e.

Hmm. I think it is just about mobilizing the lead properly. There is

this study with rats..

Just found that though. I've never given calcium at the same time as DMSA.

Thanks for the list. Now I have a benchmark point.

thanks!

you don't have to give it at the same time you take the dmsa. Just

taking a daily calcium supplement to provide the body with what it

needs. Especially if your kiddo is dairy free like mine. since mine is

not consuming milk or fortified milk substitute, his calcium intake

would not be as high as it should be, and with him being full of

lead...it made sense to give him calcium w/d and k daily. This may not

apply to every child. One clue that my children needed this were

cavities in their teeth. Cavities are the demineralization of

bone..basically osteoporosis. although dentist swear it's from sugar

and bacteria. Which is a hard sell when you have kids who don't eat

that stuff. I also talked to another mom, gosh probably two years ago

who was chelating for a long time with no minerals and her kid's teeth

all got soft and needed filling. Anyway, with my son on the minerals,

and taking his clo..we went back for his dental check and he no longer

needs a filling. The dentist said " for some reason the tooth

remineralized " .

I also note that when I use dmsa I had leg pains in my leg bones if I

did not take calcium on rounds. Nothing crazy just like 500-1000mg a

day. I learned the hard way that I needed it by doing rounds without

it, and rounds with it. Sometimes on round without it, my leg bones

would ache terribly and it took me a while to figure it out, but when

I took calcium the pain went away.

I also found that I needed to take zinc or would clench my teeth and

have jaw muscles spasms. I don't if I take the zinc.

If you don't give calcium, just watch for things like that, if the

child complains of leg pain or seems to indicate his legs hurt. Or if

you know the child is not consuming enough calcium per day.

I also have high lead. So this may be why, taking the lead out of

bones..I need the calcium to put back in.
