Dear all,

GSNP+ (Gujarat State Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS) is very please to

announce it has received permission from the Government of Gujarat's Social

Justice and Empowerment Department to establish two Special Caring Homes for

Orphan children living with HIV. GSNP+ will have direct responsibility for

operation and administration of the two sites at Surat and Gandhinagar.

Through sustained efforts the Gujarat government has been sensitized to the

special needs of orphan children and recognized the importance of this issue.

The efforts of GSACS (Gujarat State AIDS Control Society) were also instrumental

in securing funding for this initiative. Both recognize the positive changes

possible in the futures of the children who will benefit from the Special Caring

Homes.

The two Special Caring Homes will be established in Surat and Gandhinagar. In

Surat, Reliance Industries will participate in a public, private partnership

through the allocation of land, construction of the facility and some operating

funds. GSNP+ has had an ongoing relationship with Reliance Industries and look

forward to its expansion through this project.

GSNP+ would like to thank the Government of Gujarat, GSACS and Reliance

Industries in brightening the future of very special children.

With Regards,

Irfan Bilakhiya

State Coordinator,

GSNP+, Surat (Gujarat)
