Guest guest
Dear all, It is extremely shocking as well as saddening to learn of Rajendra's demise. I have known him since the last 3 years and have fond memories of our friendly jives ... it was never a doctor patient relationship. He was an example for many of his contemporaries in the way he had kept himself healthy for more than 10 years after being HIV positive just with a balanced diet and exercise. I would always ask him to get started on ARVs and he would always joke about how he would rather increase his Yoga routine than go on ARVs. The last time I had met him was around 7 months back and he had handed me a 'Siddhivinayak Ganesha' statuette from Mumbai - something that I have kep very dearly. He looked frail that day but he was smiling even though he most certainly was in a lot of pain . Most people I know will always remember him for that smiling face of his. One who could smile through the worst of times had indeed the bravest of the hearts. Those working in the field of HIV AIDS have not only lost a colleague but a brave warrior and a strong leader. I wish there was something that could have been done to save him. I would like to offer my prayers and condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace.
