Guest guest
My 21 month NT son is allergic to Vit C. I'm wondering what this means in regard to his immune system. Even if I take a small amount of ascorbic acid crystals the next day (he's breastfed) his legs come out in a red, itchy rash. The rash then comes up in various patches on his legs for a few days before it starts to slowly fade. Thanks for any suggestions, Jenene. Guest guest
try giving no-phenol prior to the Vit C. I thought my son was allergic to GSE but once I added the no-phenol I didn't have any problems. Hope this helps. Guest guest
It may just be the brand or the form of vit C, or their maybe unlisted excipients in the product. & Jenene s wrote: > > My 21 month NT son is allergic to Vit C. Guest guest
If you react to vitamin C... couldn't it be a phenol issue? or that you have a virus? Most commercial vitamin C is made from corn, and this sounds like my son when he had corn intolerance. Try a vitamin C made with sago palm, like TwinLabs Allergy C. This is the only one my sons could tolerate. I would start out with 1/4 of the recommended dose regardless. Vit C can cause loose stools. You can order a trial size to see if he tolerates it.
