Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: Jan I don't have a fever anymore....and if it were strep..I should, right? ===>No, incorrect, there is absolutely no way to tell from any symptom whether you have strep or not. A fever will not stay with strep. I had strep throat as a child from a cold with a sore throat with a minor fever, nothing remarkable. The bad breath in your boy sounds like a sinus infection. We have kept ours on OLE this winter and so far so good, they're all dropping like flies around her, but she has been cold/flu free, knock on wood. I have been trying to call my doc but the phone has busy all morning. What do we need to do to get rid of this?? My son is doing the best so far, but not cold free. Everyone else in the house has it, some are faring better, I'm faring the worse. For some reason I cannot get an upper respiratory infection that does not become laryngitis! I had this same thing last year too. Any helps is appreciated.

Guest guest
Ok, point taken....I've got a yeasty virus...lol. let me start pounding down some more gse/probiotics and see if I am doing better tomorrow. I really hate antibotics and will avoid them at all costs. If it's viral, they won't help anyway. oh and more vitamin C. on that too but not enough probably. By the way, my son's behavior has improved considerably on the OLE. And his yeast is almost gone...odd? How long to get rid of a sinus infection on OLE? What should we give with the OLE. GSE/probiotics too to keep yeast down, right? > > Symptoms: > > dry itchy cough, sinus/throat congestion, sore neck, body aches, > > fever, throat congestion, sore throat. > > > At my house, in the order above, yeast, yeast, yeast/virus, virus, > virus, yeast, yeast/virus. > > > > I began my son on OLE and virstop. > > > I would add vitamin C and biotin. Guest guest
I suspect the sinus infection in him also. That cold lasted way too long. The OLE/GSE is helping, he's way better than he was, but it's not gone yet. I am going to try a few more things..if no resolve then I'll get a strep test done. It always comes back neg though. I recall strep pain being all the time. I had it at least four times in my life that I can recall, probably five. And usually, the throat pain is so bad you can't swallow at all, day or nigh. but...who knows! what gets me is I get the same horrific head infection every year..since I was a kid. It'd be nice to eradicate it permanently. I always end up with laryngitis to boot. My chiropractor keeps telling me if I want to get rid of it for good...the silver. I keep rolling my eyes and quoting Andy. lol... > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Jan > > > > I don't have a fever anymore....and if it were strep..I should, > right? > > ===>No, incorrect, there is absolutely no way to tell from any symptom whether you have strep or not. I had a minor cold as a 7 year old, missed two days of school in the late winter, don't even remember if my throat was sore, but the cold completely resolved. However, by early spring I was hospitalized with a kidney disease. Yes, the silver would help but then it would create other problems. Guest guest
I suspect the silver would also kill off more than just bad bacteria. It's so difficult finding a balance. I want to kill whatever viral/bacterial is making me sick, but not kill off what isn't. I am yeasty though..Dana is right on that one. I checked my tongue and wow. So is OLE/gse/probiotics best for his sinus infection? And me on ole/gse/probiotics? > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: Jan > > > > > > > > I don't have a fever anymore....and if it were strep..I should, > > right? > > > > ===>No, incorrect, there is absolutely no way to tell from any > symptom whether you have strep or not. Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: Jan So is OLE/gse/probiotics best for his sinus infection? ===>Yes, OLE and gse are about the best for bacteria. I have also seen some good studies that OLE is an effective treatment for strep. Ditto for Berberines. Keep in mind that a regular cold is not considered problematic unless it continues beyond 10 days. But you know your kid, with ours if she continually keeps getting worse in the evening and has dark circles under her eyes past 4 days, we just as well go to the dr and get some Zithromax and get it over with. And me on ole/gse/probiotics? ===>All helpful, so is garlic, for me. She cannot take it in pill form for some odd reason, cooking with it is fine. Hope your family feels better soon, Jan. > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: Jan > > > > > > > > I don't have a fever anymore....and if it were strep..I should, > > right? > > > > ===>No, incorrect, there is absolutely no way to tell from any > symptom whether you have strep or not. Guest guest
Thanks, hopefully we will all be over this soon. We have missed a round already and I am getting anxious. he's doing better than I. I think he just has the sinus infection. He has had congestion, runny nose, cough for three weeks. It's past time to go away..then he got that virus last week and we still have the sinus stuff left...and the bad breath this morning was my clue. Sinus infection..no sore throat for him. i have three more days before I am considered " problematic " . > > > > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > From: Jan > > > > > > > > > > > > I don't have a fever anymore....and if it were strep..I should, > > > right? > > > > > > ===>No, incorrect, there is absolutely no way to tell from any > > symptom whether you have strep or not. Guest guest
Jan, The best home remedy I've ever for sore throat is sipping hot water with a tablespoon or two of raw honey, about 2 tsps organic apple cider vinegar, a quarter of a lemon - squeeze the juice into the hot water and then put the lemon quarter in, too, and a tiny PINCH of cayenne pepper. I know it sounds gross, but honestly it doesn't taste as bad as it sounds. And though it won't cure the underlying cause, it does give fantastic sore throat RELIEF that lasts for a good 3-4 hours. Hope that helps. > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: Jan > > > > > > > > I don't have a fever anymore....and if it were strep..I should, > > right? > > > > ===>No, incorrect, there is absolutely no way to tell from any > symptom whether you have strep or not. Guest guest
Thank you..I am going to stop at the store and get some fresh lemons and cayenne to gear up for tonights episode, I'll try anything..it should flare up around 8pm. I have the vinegar..in fact...gargled with it a few times. > > > > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > From: Jan > > > > > > > > > > > > I don't have a fever anymore....and if it were strep..I should, > > > right? > > > > > > ===>No, incorrect, there is absolutely no way to tell from any > > symptom whether you have strep or not. Guest guest
Jan, If 's concoction irritates your throat more, try a baking soda gargle. Make it as salty as you can stand it and gargle several times a day. I had a really bad throat tickle 2 winters ago that made me caugh and gag for minutes, and I tried an acidic gargle, and it make it worse. Baking soda soothed my throat, and it also kills strep bacterial, or so I read. For sinus infections you might want to try a saline nasal rinse. You can try the spray and inhale it really deep into your sinuses. Or you can try a sinus rinse like Sinumed, Ayr, or NeilMed. NeilMed makes pediatric bottles that you can give your son. Just act like it's a really cool thing to make water come out of the other nostril. My 4yo was really excited about doing this and did it once for me. Then he said it felt weird and didn't want to do it again. Use distilled water and warm it up to a good temperature. I hope you feel better soon! Guest guest
Thank you for all your help. Since adding the gse for myself and probiotics (2x a day each) with the OLE my sore throat is getting better. I did not have that terrible pain last night. So it's helping. My son's breathe was even worse this morning. Made me gag. He is getting about 1/2 500mg cap of OLE with 1/2 tab of gse once a day, then probiotics at night. He is pretty healthy overall and seems to be fighting things off better than I anyway. I did expect he would be " snot free " by now though. Its like he has had a cold for a month, which got worse when he caught that respiratory infection. He improved a lot in the past week, should we increase his dose? I don't want to get antibiotics for him because he's allergic to penicillin. They usually give us this really expensive stuff that gives him diarrhea. We have only had to get that once for strep, but I'd rather not. The older one has it now too, so I have her on the same stuff. She's getting pink eye too. We are using homeopathic drops for that. I am supposed to do a round on my son this week. He has missed the last two because of this cold/now sinus infection, I kept waiting for it to go away. Would you skip this week also? > > > > Ok, point taken....I've got a yeasty virus...lol. > > > =) > > > > By the way, my son's behavior has improved considerably on the OLE. > > And his yeast is almost gone...odd? > > > That would mean the virus was almost gone. > > > > How long to get rid of a sinus infection on OLE? > > > Depends on the overall health of the rest of the body, and the dose of > OLE you give.
