HIV positive children suffer most in Karnataka

Karnataka .HIV positive children were the most denied lot in Karnataka as they

are being denied education, property rights and nutrition, a top official today

said.

Speaking to reporters Ms Shantha Sinha, Chairperson of the National Commission

for Protection of Child Rights, said violation of children rights were common in

case of HIV positive children and deniying them property was commonly seen. Even

basic health attention was denied when the children needed special treatment

including ART.

She had earlier participated in a state level public hearing of children

affected by HIV and Aids in Karnataka, where 22 cases from various parts of

Karnataka were heard.
