I've been chelating myself for many years though not every weekend. When i

started (7 years ago) my arsenic was off the charts high red, on the most recent

hair test (April 2008) it's low yellow. During most of this time I've also met

the counting rules for mercury toxicity. I'm chelating with ALA and DMSA, Andy

protocol.

Arsenic removal is slow.

First DDL hair analysis 2/06. Are main issue is arsenic for both

kids. We focused on our daughter who had PDD.

Started chelating Andy's Protocal - 7/06

It will be three years of chelating this summer.

In 2/06 arsenic was at .38 reference <0.080 in the red

In 11/08 it had gone down to .11 reference <0.060 - still half way

thru the yellow.

Is it going to take three years to get the arsenic out? Really!! That

LONG!!!

We did many rounds of DMPS seven days on seven days off, then added

in ALA every three hours in the middle of the round. Last summer we

dropped the DMPS and using only ALA. We have had 49 rounds of DMPS

total and 40 rounds of ALA total. I don't know the count of how many

rounds total.

Tin has crept further up into the yellow. I just threw away our old

silverwear.... What chelates tin?

I don't believe we have mineral transport derangement and mercury has

gone down with just a small remainder at 0.05 reference range .40.

Before the mercury was in the green at .20.

My typical son's arsenic level was 2.2 reference range 0.080 in 4/06

and he does not tolerate DMPS or DMSA. Bacteria issues are

impossible to control on ALA. We are still batteling the mycroplasm

so have not been able to chelate. I am sure we have not made much

progress but removing him from the exposure. I think exposure was

from old house built on top of land used to be owned by a brick and

tile company and next to train tracks.

Did I hear right that B6 helps with arsenic? Doesn't sound like

anything I would hear on this list.

Was I foolish to think my daughters arsenic level would be lower? How

many years will it take to get my son's extremely high level out?

How do people cope with knowing there is crap in their kids and not

do anything about it? I am not sure how I will cope with getting

this out of our son when we haven't even started. We are getting

another analysis done anyway so we know where we are. Maybe removing

him from the exposure 2 and 2/2 years ago will cause the level to go

down?

Disappointed, Melinda

, My sons arsenic was double the chart plus some more at 2.2 So

are we looking at 36 YEARS!!! That is crazy! I can only hope that

since he is so young (5yrs old) that he will excrete it faster even

tho we are not chelating???? We only lived in that old house for

three years.

There is a lot of anxiety around here.

In our experience Wakame (a brown seaweed) pulls out arsenic. As to the

speed, I don't know. What I do know, and may have mentioned here, is that

there

are plans to use Wakame to clean up polluted harbors because of its affinity

for toxins, heavy metals. Modifilan is kombu, another brown seaweed, cold

processed into a powder for chelation.

Maine Coast Sea Vegetables 207 565-2907 has organic kelp, another member of

the kombu, brown seaweed, family. Kelp is also excellent for thyroid

problems, having organic iodine. They are knowledgeable there, and agreeable

to

questions.

Also, I think I remember reading that apples (perhaps the malic acid in

them) pull arsenic.

Is there a reason you're not chelating?

My son had a ton of arsenic & it really seemed to increase in

excretion when I added in SamE twice a day. Not sure why, except that

on the metals test it says, " Detoxication occurs via methylation,

requiring S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe). " This is under the commentary

on arsenic for Genova Diagnostics toxic elements testing. Not only

did arsenic dramatically increase for excretion during our chelation,

but the SAMe helped his mood!

He does not tolerate DMPS or DMSA. He gets really awful red blotches

all over his body including around his eyes. His eyes also get really

blood shot. I sent pics to A and she agreed that he is not

tolerating it. It was more than a yeast kick up. It appears that he

has a mycroplasm as well that reared its head after we tried

chelating. It took us about 18 months to address the bacteria to the

point that he would no longer have wetting accidents and then I tried

a few rounds of ALA (which he seemed to tolerate) and the bacteria

kicked up again. So its been several more months of trying to get it

under control.

He was on antibiotics for an extended period of time along with OLE,

O of O, PRX (Virastop) SPS, Cranberry, and D-Mannose. It requires

all the supps to be in place and at high doses. We do give garlic at

times but he tolerates only small amounts or his stomach hurts. We

also have tried some products from Raintree to help the bacteria.

We are still having several accidents a week. Some of the supps he is

taking currently are: prx, sps, ole, o of o, monolaurin, cranberry

and d-mannose. I just added in extra B6 a couple of days ago and he

did not have any accidents the last two days and woke up dry today.

Once we get this under control for awhile again we are going to need

to work on tappering him off of some of this stuff for ahwile like I

was able to do before. His gut is in worse shape now and he is now

requiring no-fenol to be taken with some of these supps or we get red

ears and hyper.

You may be surprised to hear that he is 5 and appears NT. He

actually scored developmentally ahead in all areas during his pre-

kindergarten testing. The anti-virals gave us huge cognitive gains.

I am not sure what the arsenic is doing to him but I am sure it is

not good. We are taking things one day at a time. I would like to

know how many years of our lives it will take to get this out. When

we do restart we will probably start with about 2 1/2 mg of ALA.

, What health benefits have you seen as you have decreased your

arsenic and mercury load?

In our experience Wakame (a brown seaweed) pulls out arsenic.

===>Seaweed does not chelate arsenic, not chronic arsenic toxicity that we are

dealing with on this list.

As to the

speed, I don't know. What I do know, and may have mentioned here, is that

there are plans to use Wakame to clean up polluted harbors because of its

affinity for toxins, heavy metals.

==>Yes, and because Wakame has an affinity for heavy metals, Wakame usually

contains lots of heavy metals, not a good idea to take this or anything else

grown in the ocean *unless* you buy from a company that will share the

independent assay of their product.====>

Maine Coast Sea Vegetable has organic kelp, another member of the kombu, brown

seaweed, family. Kelp is also excellent for thyroid problems, having organic

iodine. They are knowledgeable there, and agreeable to questions.

===>Unfortunately, when I emailed them and called them, they would NOT provide

me with an independent assay of the heavy metal content of their product.===>

Also, I think I remember reading that apples (perhaps the malic acid in

them) pull arsenic.

===>Again, not true for chronic toxicity that our kids are dealing with.
