Hi I think alot of people use the Urine Toxic Metals test for monitoring

chelation.  You can get it without a dr order at

and its been posted here before that you can get a discount by mentioning this

group.

Also if you can get your dr to order it for you, some insurance will pay for it

with the appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes.

I am reposting this because there was no answer to my question the first time.

How do you

tell what metals are being pulled out during chelation with DMSA? I am

interested to know

what tests you all are doing and how often. (urine, porphyrin, hair, etc.) I am

starting

round 5 chelating with DMSA only. Also, when would you add in the ALA? My six

year old

son tested high for aluminum and tin on a DDI hair test. He developed an eye

rolling/

grimacing tic which mutated to a nose twitching tic. Now he is now doing a

breath holding

thing then breathing heavily to catch his breath (vocal tic). Anyone else have

this issue?

I look at the increase in cognition for my daughter, which is what tells

me chelation is working.

I did a period of DMSA only for 3 or 4 months before I included the ALA

because my daughter had significant lead issues.

I saw significant improvements come from the DMSA only. When the

improvements stopped, I did one extra round of DMSA to confirm this, and

then the following round I started including ALA.

What does and dosing schedule are you using? I presume he has NO mercury

amalgam dental fillings.

Dose: 12.5 mg of DMSA every 4 hours, 2.5 days on, 11 days off. My son is six and

a half

and weighs 50 lbs.

Oh, I forgot, he also has no mercury amalgams, just three composite fillings

(the white

ones).

I used only ALA. I watched for improvements.

At my house, most tics were related to yeast overgrowth.
