Guest guest
Hi, My son is zinc deficit after chelating with ALA. He constantly sucks fingers, bites objects and clothes. He starts to be silly. It drives me crazy. I added liquid zinc and zinc capsule. But his zinc level is still very low. I learnt to separate zinc and calcium from this list. Can you please tell me what else I should do to increase his zinc level? supplement? food? timing? not absorb properly due to some reason? Any advice is highly appreciated! Guest guest
Connie, some kinds of zinc absorb better than others. Methionine, picolinate, or citrate would be the kinds I'd be sure to try. Also, zinc will absorb better if you can give it in small doses over the day. How much does your son weigh and how many mgs are you giving? The kind of behaviour you're describing can also be the result of low minerals, not just low zinc. Silliness can be yeast. Guest guest
are you giving his weight plus 20mg in zinc? I note that it took over two years of constant daily zinc supplementing at that level before my son was able to miss a dose and not show symptoms. For him it was chewing on toys and items like that. The sucking fingers, and chewing clothes was yeast in our house. Ala chelation should not lower his zinc, but if you don't see these behaviors go away with zinc, then look at yeast. Give zinc with food also, it tends to make one nauseous on an empty stomach. > > Hi, > > My son is zinc deficit after chelating with ALA. He constantly sucks fingers, bites objects and clothes. Guest guest
> My son is zinc deficit after chelating with ALA. He constantly sucks fingers, bites objects and clothes. He starts to be silly. These meant food intolerance and yeast overgrowth here, not zinc deficiency. Dana
Guest guest
Try ionic zinc which is easier to absorb, and/or tissue salts. Tissue salts are a bit of a science in themselves so spend some time reading up on it. Aka Schleusser Salts or biochemic salts. Usually even the most sensitive person can take them without problems. This will help with the absorption problem. Sharon Hoehner www.sharethecause.com/detoxqueen > > Hi, > > My son is zinc deficit after chelating with ALA. Guest guest
Hi Anita, Thank you so much for your advices! My son is 48lb. I am giving him liquid zinc sulfate heptahydrate 15mg X 2 per day. Is it too little? I just added biocidin 3 drops on top of his anti-yeast supplement today. Hopefully silliness will go away. Thanks!
