Irene,

How much zinc are you giving?

My son is about the same size as yours (35 lbs?) and we give 75mg/day

split into 5 doses. 3 doses are with food and other supps and the

other 2 doses are with his Candidase on an empty stomach (early

am/late pm). We initially gave zinc for high hair copper and the

copper came down. We had to increase the zinc to deal with chewing

problems. I've tried " forgetting " a dose or two/day of the zinc and

the chewing returns so we've settled at this dose for a while.

Are you by any chance supplementing calcium? I think, but can't

prove (and haven't hair tested again to try to establish), that

calcium caused my son's high hair copper. Copious amounts of zinc

and molybdenum (1000 mgs per day in divided doses of the latter)

didn't bring it down at all. But if I had to guess, pulling the

calcium out of his supplements has. I only did this when I couldn't

figure anything else to try and I read in Amalgam Illness that

calcium can cause copper retention. Anyways, just a thought.

As for chelating with ALA with high copper, Andy says you can do it

very, very gently, leaving enough time between rounds.

check the pfeiffer clinic website

william walsh is an expert in Cu and Zn/Cu ratio

we had high Cu in my first hair test (still posted in files)

experts told me to increase bile flow with milk thistle, glycine and

taurine, i think physphatidyl choline also helps sine Cu is excreted

by bile flow, so having it come out the hair is not so good

i also started Zn 45mg (15mg 3 x per day) for 45lb child, reccommended

dose is 20mg + 1mg per lb of kid and separate that total dose into 4

the biggie for lowering Cu is Molybdenum (Mo)

Andy says 10-30mg per 1 lb of kid we quickly moved up to 625mg per day

spread out into 3 doses. I say the yeast monster rear its ugle head so

i killed it with gse, probiotic, and whatever else i could fire at it

not a pretty sight but it worked. i reduce dose to 375mg and now back

up to 500mg and seeing very nice improvements

Cu toxcity can have similar symptoms as Hg - digestion issues, behavior

issues etc.

Also look to eliminate Cu - it is in a lot of stuff- they try to

suppliment you with the stuff every chance they get, i found it it soy

milk, power bar ( both of which were excellents sources of protein for

us) also found it in O's cereal

As far as water is concerned, if you have acid water and Cu pipes then

the Cu from the pipes and lead from the solder joints can get into the

water. i also read it can be a component in swimming pool and lake and

pond algeacide so dont drink it (i think my girl did)

andy said to put some tap water in a cup (dont run it first)just

straight from the tap then add ammonia if it turns blue you may have Cu

in the water otherwise not, we started bottled water anyhow

i also read that ALA inhibits Cu excretion so you may want to limit ala

rounds to 1 or 2 per month as i was told and work on lowering the Cu

i may know some more about this since it my latest project but i am

running out of steam let me know if you want more info i have some

other links to share
