Guest guest
Two things that we did as part of the patterning from the Institutes from the Achievement of Human Potential were designed to get more oxygen to the brain, and they worked really well. In fact we've just started suspension again. They were: S.I.R. suspended inverted rotation, which sounds awful and my daughter just loved it as a kid. She'd hang there upside down chatting with us and the volunteers for as long as we'd let here. It seemed to make her feel great. Now we're using a slant board machine, although a regular slant board would work well; just can't get complete inversion or any movement with it. And an ironing board is free! The second is called masking and used one of those green oxygen machine masks with a bag attached. You tape over the air holes with scotch tape. There person breathes in and out for a minute on, then a minute off, a minute on, a minute off. She did 100 a day. She was so cute. At 6 she went to Montessori in the morning and her brother and I'd pick her up, and she'd grab the mask and start timing herself: minute on minute off with her watch, and have 15 done by the time we were home. The theory was that by breathing in one's own CO2, it increased deep breathing in the minute the bag was off, pulling in more oxygen, and so that deeper breathing became the habit. Anyone interested could call IAHP in Philadelphia and ask about these. Francine epiousian = the expression of agape quite a bit more than enough **************Life should be easier. Guest guest
Hi Francine We did the first part of the Physically Superb book when my son was young. Our OT was impressed at his vestibular system when she met him at age 4. Those exercises really worked! I'm interested in this board as well as the mask. Is there any info on the brain child site?
