Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: faronpurple I posted my supp list, . I used ARI, AC and Neubrander recommendations. ===>, we've had more than a few kids on here who get cranky and irritable on Ala and giving extra magnesium and C was helpful in returning their calm, so make sure he is getting adequate amounts of these at least 3-4 times a day. There is a supplement file in the file sections but the recommendation for magnesium is minimally 400 mgs. That does not mean it will be enough for your son and you can give as much as 800 mgs if that doesn't cause loose stools, and some kids need a lot. Avoid magnesium oxide as this form is not absorbed very well. You can give as much Vitamin C as he can tolerate without causing loose stools. The fact that you are getting gains is good and a sign that you are going in the right direction, he may just need more antioxidants. So try increasing the magnesium and C and let us know how he does. Ours on Ala, was totally euphoric and spacey, kind of like people who have had a few cocktails at a dinner party, not drunk but feeling very, very relaxed and good. , I dosed 4 mg of Kirkman ALA every 3 hours by day and 4 hours by night (sometimes 3 if I woke up early...then picked up again at 4 hour mark). My son is 3 y.o. and 32 pounds. Once I stop the cycle, I will see if rages continue more than a day. I think I read that the ill side effects should subside in a day. Thanks all!! I have held off on ALA because I think I was near a nervous breakdown and couldn't do the 4-hour night dosing. We've been on this roller coaster for a year, and it has taken me that long to mentally adjust. (and probably will take much, much longer) ; )
