Guest guest
I've read in the archives that Andy recommends doses of 500 - 1000 IU of Vitamin A per pound for children daily. Can anyone clarify if this dosage applies to our toxic kids only or is this dosing OK for NT kids too? I give my daughter the above dosage but she has obvious gut problems. Now my son may need Vit A since he has lots of bumps on his skin (chicken skin I think it's called), which I've read may improve with Vit A, but I don't know if Andy's dosage is too high for him or not. Thanks,

In my experience, start low and work up. Three of my kids reached toxic levels very early [at low doses]. My #2 required high dose protocol twice. He was the only one with visual stims, but I don't think that is a " required " sign. The three older kids had MMR vax, but only #2 required high dose protocol. I used high dose protocol from here http://www.danasview.net/vitamina.htm Chicken skin bumps were eliminated here with mito cocktail and fish oil, anti-virals, and mB12. If I start at 10000 IU, is it safe to increment by 5000 IUs or 1000 IUs? > Chicken skin bumps were eliminated here with mito cocktail and fish > oil, anti-virals, and mB12. Thanks for this. I have to look into this further since DS isn't absorbing omegas or flax. Everytime I give him some, I find an oil slick in the toilet bowl within a few hours or the next day. I give him carnitine with meals which has helped since I no longer see a slick hours after meals where fat is served. Maybe he needs more carnitine? I'll look at your site again, maybe this one needs the other mito supps or maybe more adrenal support, not sure yet what the problem is for him. But he is also developing more eczema, which suggests a reaction to something in the environment.

If I start at 10000 IU, is it safe to increment by 5000 IUs > or 1000 IUs? 1000 IU would be okay, or 2500 IU. I did those low doses, then up to 5000, then 10,000, then I went up to 25,000. Each increase brought improvement. 50,000 then 100,000. I did an entire month at 100,000 and I was still able to watch it wear off. That is what told me that he would benefit from high dose protocol. My other kids reached toxicity after a few days on 10,000. > Thanks for this. I have to look into this further since DS isn't > absorbing omegas or flax. At my house, eczema meant food intolerance [or occasionally supplement]. Dana
