I've been giving my son B12 shots per the Neubrander protocol

for about 3 months. We ran out just before Thanksgiving and the

pharmacy couldn't get them to us until yesterday so he ended up being

off for the last week. I noticed a little regression but I had

forgotten how spacey he was when he first started on the shots. I got

a reminder this morning. He was such a space cadet. I had to tell him

to do things using short sentences and much repetition.

These shots are so amazing for him, though, even with that small side

effect. Because his progress was somewhat subtle, I hadn't realized

how quickly I had come to rely on his receptive language being so much

higher while on the shots.

As an aside for anyone thinking about doing the shots but afraid of

giving them or causing their children pain. I took one of the shots

early on and I couldn't really call the feeling pain - it was more of

a mosquito bite and a mild one at that. We started this whole thing

with emla cream and sneaking at night but these days, I just pull out

the shot and my kiddo pulls his pants down, he watches me give it and

then he pulls his pants back on and continues on his way - he doesn't

even rub it.
