Re: Food Tests

Hi, .

I was wondering the same thing about my mother and her food alleriges. She

reacts to pretty much everything. I found out she has a leaky gut from yeast

overgrowth that leads to all her problems. I had her start de-yeasting and

take digestive enzymes, and a lot of her symptoms are gone, and she's able

to eat some foods without reactions.

And I wonder what would happen if she was tested for food allergies by skin

prick or blood tests? Since it's when she ingests food that the leaky gut

causes reactions, would an allergy test reveal her being allergic to these

foods or not? She doesn't have medical insurance, so I can't have her

tested.

If you suspect yeast with your DD, then do an yeast protocol and add

digestive enzymes.

The only 100% way to be sure that the food does or doesn't cause problems is

to eliminate the food and its derivatives for a while (at least 2 weeks,

more for gluten) and re-introduce it for 4 consecutive days. If leaky gut is

an issue then it would be nearly impossible to find the offending foods, but

my mom did it through trial and error. I think she has phenols issues too,

so she only eats about 3-4 different veggies, beef, chicken, rice (not good

for yeast), and very little fruits as she reacts to most of them.

If she craves carbs, then it's probably yeast. If she eats high-sugar foods

(even fruits like bananas and watermelon) and bounces off the wall, it's

most likely yeast (I have yeast overgrowth too that I'm treating, so I know

the symptoms). Sensory issues like sensitivity to smell and touch is

probably caused by yeast as well as sleep issues (my mom could back me up on

this one!). My friend's fibromyalgia symptoms subsided greatly by

de-yeasting. My AD(H)D and irritability are mostly gone by de-yeasting.

Here are some other yeast-related symptoms:

Good luck trying to figure out the source of her problems!
