ATHB has no financial support though we are doing it from our own resources. Sanjay Ram personally went to Burdwan District of Asansol, Panagadh, Burnpur and Ranigunj. He talk to those TGs who faced Violence. They personally call ATHB and asked help. Sanjay Ram documented all the report after talking with them. In Kolkata Ranjit Sinha also reporetd on Violence with the Transgeneder/Hijra community. A well reputated Pub in Kolkata were not allowing any Transgenders into the Pub. Ranjit Sinha personally went and talk to the Manager with the help of New Market Police Station. Now they agreed to allow Transgenders into the Pub. A Transgender Sexworker stands on the road for sex work in Kolkata. She was continuosly facing problems from the police on the road. We went and talk to the Officer-in-charge in Bhawanipore Police Station. After the long talking with the Officer-in-Charge with the help of DMSC and Anandam. He agreed and given instruction to all this constable to not disturb the Transgenders who stand on the road. A Transgender is facing problem by the family again and again. Her family doesn't want to give anything from the property. Coming Sunday (23rd May,2010) we will sit with the family members including one Lawyer. We hope for the best and need all your blessings and support. We informed earlire everyone including NACO and UNDP but still there is no response from them. We have no support but we are still doing this from our own. We need your support and help for all the Transgender/Hijra in West Bengal.
