I did high dose protocol for one of my kids, who was not very verbal at the time. He developed a really itchy rash with toxicity. The other three of my kids developed signs of toxicity at much lower doses. One of them complained that altho he was really tired at night, he could not fall asleep, and only slept 4 hours that night. Another one complained of a bad headache. For myself, sleep problems and headache were my symptoms also. The third child complained of major itchy rash. I make sure to tell my kids to let me know of any differences/symptoms when I do certain protocols. > what is best drops or caps? Guest guest
Hi, , Our DAN told us that one of the main signs of Vit A toxicity was being very flushed in the face and neck. Our son is verbal, but that doesn't mean he could necessarily communicate what he was feeling, or feel things the way one might expect a NT person to do. We watched him closely for any change in behavior or physical changes. He had no problems with the high dose protocol. We used drops. Guest guest
Ds isn't verbal, but the first sign of toxicity was major cracks in the corners of his mouth which were that bad, they bled. I did go through with the 2 days of 400,000IU + the 2 out of 3 day maintenance dose. Whilst on the maintenance dose, he became very tired and cranky, crawled up into a ball on the couch and cried as if something were hurting him.(Pretty sure this was either bad headache or body aches but not certain). If any of these begin to happen stop immedietely, as they come on pretty quickly and his behaviour really did scare me. Vit A. Might have been excessive Vit D? Any info on type of A that works best? Also re maintenance dose - How to compute and how long to administer? Finally, THANKS SHERRI - I'm still pouring over the novel you posted on this subject - fantastic resource! Guest guest
Yes, do not use CLO for this protocol due to possible vitamin D toxicity. I have read that mycellized Vit A drops are best.  Dana From: rwb000 <gtm1@...> Subject: [ ] Re: High Dose Vit A Date: Wednesday, December 10, 2008, 2:06 PM > I recommend reading this posts of Andy's about Vitamin A before giving high doses: http://onibasu. com/archives/ am/112213. html We are also investigating Vit A protocol also - just found NOW brand cod liver oil 25,000 iu gel caps, but recall something stating NOT to use CLO in the 200K iu dose, but rather opt for the drops of mycelized (sp?) Just don't give the entire amount as CLO, because that would be too much vitamin D. > Also re maintenance dose - How to compute and how long to administer? Once measles virus was gone, and my son's body converted carotenes [which was an entirely different problem], I was unable to give ANY vitamin A without reaching toxicity. So for maintenance, I would start low, like 5000 IU, and see how that goes. Guest guest
Don't understand why people are inquiring about CLO for this protocol...just use vitamin A drops...I used 'Metagenic' brand of Mycelized vitamin A, 5000IU...which is 80 drops/day over the 2 days of 400,000IU, + any extra for the maintenance...I'm from Aus' and had to order from the U.S, so you americans should have no trouble obtaining. btw, had forgot to add earlier, that unlike Dana, I can still give ds CLO 750IU with the on days of chelation, with signs of toxicity again. Guest guest
Sorry, that was meant to be WITHOUT signs of toxicity again. Guest guest
My particular concern stemmed from the posts that indicated the natural forms of Vit A were superior to the drops, but possible toxic levels of Vit D in natural - ergo the questions. It's important to me not to do more damage to my child and get all the info possible. There are some who believe Vit A protocol is dangerous to begin with, regardless of Vit A form. Thanks for the input of your experience. > Donna. > > > We are also investigating Vit A protocol also - just found NOW brand cod liver oil 25,000 iu gel caps, but recall something stating NOT to use CLO in the 200K iu dose,You can do 25,000 IU as CLO, and the rest as something else.
