In care , support and treatement services, outreach worker plays important

role.

In many states Local NGO appointed PLHA as outreachworker , ORW worked

from 9am to 6pm.first they attend ICTC and PPTCT at OPD Time, help

couseller to fill up the registration form,to interact with new client, peer

counselling done. from 2pm to 6pm they went to tracing missing patient, done

followup and reffral,took montly two support group meeting.

lot of hard work ORW had done by them, but what they earn?, in Nagpur one NGO

Kumbhalkar running two programme HIV+T.B and PPTCT from 2007 . NGO had given

salary to ORW is 1875 Rs per month and signiture had taken amount 2500Rs in

voucher .

Though salary is less they worked happily. This is the only one income source

for ORW. NACO should provide employment to PLHA

under positive network to improve economic condition .

Sad to hear about possible termination of 100+ persons through NACO. On the

contrary what is happening in Ngaland is that NGOs are ready to hand over all

the Care and support DFICs to the Positive network, that much has been committed

ny the implementing NGOs to NSACS authorities.

My only wish is that the positive people not only get a pick up in health,

financial security but also  qualify themselves and take up responsibilities for

meaningful life.
