Help....

My kid is very D deficient. We have been instructed by our DAN to

boost his D3. He had been getting 80 IUs per day. Today he got 2000.

He was an emotional wreck and a bit out of control at school today.

He had 1000 in the AM and 1000 at lunch. Can D3 do this to him?

Yesterday he had the best day ever which is why we started a new

supplement. We are adding them in gradually.

Interesting...my daughter takes 10,000 IU a day for her deficiency and

we have not seen any ill effects. But we do take it 5,000 in the

morning and 5000 at night. As the doctor told us.

What form of D is he getting? Is is synthetic? A prescription?

Prescription D is usually synthetic. Look at the form to see what it

is. This might be your problem. MY sister got sick taking prescription

vitamin D but not natural D.

We are using thorne 5,000 IU right now. I am taking 5,500 IU a day and

I have not felt it do anything to me emotionally.

My vitamin book says the symptoms of Vitamin D toxicity are:

nausea, loss of appetite, headache, diarrhea, fatigue and restlessness.

The best form to use is cholecalciferol (D3) and it is the natural

form that is most absorbable.

D3 is from fish oil. Most prescribe it because it's more readily available.

We're vegan, so when my husband was found to have D deficiency he got D2

(ergocalciferol) compounded for the 8-week high dose. Now we're both on low

maintenance dose from WFM.
