Guest guest
My son is only GFCF right now. I've just started reading about the SCD diet. Right now I work, but I was thinking with the maternity leave I would have the time to cook special meals. My son doesn't get very good nutrition now (even though we try). He is very picky, and he'll ignore most fruits and veggies. He takes vitamins and is on juice plus. I thought that the SCD diet may force him to be less picky. I don't know what to do about his food. I think it would help him heal more if I could get him to eat better. I wanted to give my baby the best shot at not having to go through this so I also thought going SCD might help my breastmilk be free of things that may cause allergic reations in the baby. I was scared I wouldn't get enough nutrition or that it would kill of yeast and baterica and be bad for the baby. I was scared my breastmilk may reexpose him to the mercury in my amalgams and that is why I worried about it.. Then again it would help him get some better nutrition and help his immune system. @...: danasview@...: Thu, 4 Dec 2008 14:47:38 +0000Subject: [ ] Re: What do you think of this idea? > Hello,> I am about to have a baby, and I have a 4 year old with autism. > First I was wondering if it is a good idea to put the whole familyof the SCD as soon as the baby is born (I want to prevent the next onefrom having autism if possible). Will the die off from the diet hurtthe baby through the breatmilk?Does your 4yo do well with SCD? Does he get all the requirednutrition? Do you notice any problems with it?> Second idea (which is probably a bit strange) was to pump extra milkand mix it with something and give it to my asd son to boost hisimmune system. The problem is I couldn't afford to remove theamalgams will it do more harm then good? On this page is info from another mother who did just this.http://www.danasview.net/newbaby.htmDana _________________________________________________________________ Send e-mail faster without improving your typing skills. http://windowslive.com/Explore/hotmail?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_hotmail_acq_speed_12200\

For some kids, giving digestive enzymes expands their willingness to try new foods. If it is a sensory issue, try increasing the yeast protocol. >>I wanted to give my baby the best shot at not having to go through this I have ideas here http://www.danasview.net/newbaby.htm >>so I also thought going SCD might help my breastmilk be free of things that may cause allergic reations in the baby. My son did not tolerate most of the foods that are allowed on SCD, so it does not necessarily help all kids. > I was scared my breastmilk may reexpose him to the mercury in my amalgams and that is why I worried about it.. Then again it would help him get some better nutrition and help his immune system. As a general rule, breast milk is best, even if there might be some mercury exposure. If you are taking a vitamin C supplement and maybe some selenium, that will help with any mercury going to the baby. Dana
