Guest guest Posted July 27, 2010 Report Share Posted July 27, 2010 Position: Programme Manager, Network Development Reporting to: Regional Coordinator, ICW Asia Pacific Location: New Delhi, India Closing date of application: 13th August, 2010 ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: ICW (The International Community of Women living with HIV/AIDS) in Asia Pacific (ICW Asia Pacific) is a regional network run by and for HIV positive women that promotes their voices and advocates for changes that improve their lives. Established in 2009, ICW Asia Pacific is a new entity affiliated with the ICW Global network and is represented in the governing body of ICW Global. The ICW Global was founded in 1992 with the vision to ensure meaningful involvement of HIV positive women at all local, national, regional, and international political levels, where decisions that affect their lives are being made, access to comprehensive prevention, care and treatment and realization of full rights particularly sexual, reproductive, legal, financial and general health rights. Roles & Responsibilities: Strategic: · To work closely with the Regional Coordinator to implement ICW Asia Pacific’s Strategic Plan (2009 – 2014) particularly those objectives relating to network development and membership · To prepare and implement communication and advocacy strategies in line with the strategic plan. · Assist in developing programmes to operationalise the strategic framework · To facilitate the development of ICW Asia Pacific to enable it to fulfil its role as a regional organisation. · To assist the regional coordinator in fund raising and develop links with potential donors. · To develop strategic alliances with range of stakeholders like UN organizations, research agencies, women’s groups, government officials. Management: · To manage specific programme related budget. · To attend senior management team and other organisational meetings, and participate in wider initiatives as may reasonably be required. Membership: To identify opportunities for membership growth in areas where ICW is not represented. To identify and reach new HIV positive women’s networks and ensure strong links with existing ones. To attract, develop, retain and support members. To ensure regular communication with members. To use and take advantage of new and innovative communication tools. Programmatic: · Develop work plans related to programmes. · Develop and coordinate participatory research with Positive women groups and individuals as as appropriate. · Plan and conduct meetings, workshops and other relevant events. · Represent the organization in meetings and workshops. · Develop and conduct research programmes to collect evidence based information including developing policy briefs and other publications. · Coordinate issue based campaign and other advocacy strategies in the region. · Prepare donor reporting. · Perform other related duties as necessary. · Willingness to travel nationally and regionally. Qualification and Experience: · Masters degree in social science and 5 years of Communications/Advocacy experience. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, fluency in local language (Hindi) is highly preferred. · Knowledge & experience of issues related to HIV positive women. · A Non judgmental and open attitude. · Proficient on Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook . Competencies/Skills: · Excellent oral and written communication skills. · Good interpersonal and team work skills. · Effective analytical & advocacy skills. · Effective networking skills. Remuneration: Compensation package offer will commensurate with qualification and experiences.
