Guest guest
Yes, I would meet the constipation head on and do not wait for a bigger problem. You do not want to deal with an obstruction. I just went through this with my soon to be three year old and it is an event I do not care to ever repeat! He had a colon blockage found through a colonoscopy. We were told to give high dose vitamin C (5000 mg) and magnesium as a constipation remedy. You can also give epsom salt (laxative baths). You can buy the epsom salt at any CVS or pharmacy and add a lot of epsom salt to the bath water. ...Over 5 cups. My son called it " sandy water " . After we did an ES bath it almost always produced a BM within a couple of hours. You might start with the bath to start and see if it works. If you try the bath. let me know how it goes. Good luck. My 3yr old son has not pooped since 1st MB-12 shot and IGg 2000 DF die Date: Thursday, December 11, 2008, 4:54 PM For pooping, try aloe vera juice (a dietary supplement). When our 4 yr old doesn't poop for a couple of days we give him an ounce of aloe vera juice in some apple juice. Works fast for him. I have heard this is habit-forming, so it should not be a regular thing. If constipation becomes a chronic problem, as it is for us, you might consider Oxypowder (start with a small amount, like 1/2 capsule a day, and work up to whatever level brings regularity.) We recently stopped Oxypowder and now use Salba/Salvia (1 scoop/day), which is like a natural metamucil. We also give 1 cap of magnesium/calcium currently. He has not had a bowel movement since Tuesday morning before the doc visit. I am also starting him on Nystatin today and will order a multimineral and probiotic today. Is this normal that he is not pooping? I'm concerned and do not want to take him to the emergency room to get an enima. Guest guest
Great advice Alyssa, I will try it tonight and let you know how it goes. Usually I only put 1 cup of epsom salt in his bath, have been doing this for 2 months now, but I'll up it to 5 cups. From: Maggie da Silva <Mgds@...> Subject: [ ] Re: HELP!
