Guest guest
We think our son may need this to help him with hyperactivity and being more focused as he seems to do well when wearing a backpack. Any experiences or input? Thanks and crossposting. Vicki
Guest guest
We tried it and my son hated it. He did like the pressure vest though. this is going to be very individual and depend on your child's particular sensory issues. so he may like it. If your child is school age and getting OT at school, ask if he can try one there to see if it will work before you buy one. Our OT therapies loaned us a weighted vest and a pressure vest for 2 weeks to see which one would work. > > We think our son may need this to help him with hyperactivity and being more focused as he > seems to do well when wearing a backpack. Guest guest
No, we had no success with anything like that for calming him down. There were food allergies that affected his ability to stay calm and focused, once we removed them he was able to comply with our requests, we had a totally different kid. > > We think our son may need this to help him with hyperactivity and being more focused as he > seems to do well when wearing a backpack. Guest guest
I should also have added that for us, calmness came with taurine, more so than the vest because they cannot wear it all the time. But when we started taurine it helped. Also as she said, avoiding food issues. For us that meant NO food coloring. We also have to keep yeast in check or that makes him hyper too. Chelation has gone a long way is reducing his sensory disorder as well. > > > > We think our son may need this to help him with hyperactivity and > being more focused as he > > seems to do well when wearing a backpack.
