Guest guest
When I pull the gse I get yeast. If I pull the OLE the sore throat gets worse. Let me try the biotin instead of gse. But for me it..could be latent viruses yes. Since I seem to have tonsil/throat issues every winter for years. Last year I got rid of tonsillitis with iodine and I think that I have tonisllitis now, from that sinus cold I had a few weeks ago. It's like it's just moving around from one place to another. Not for the dh though, he got that same viral cold we all got and since then has not gotten rid of the sore throat that came with it. His hurts in the morning and at night. I am going to have him start gargling with salt water. (he's a bit less compliant and not on gse)He's the lost cause project, very yeasty and won't do anything for it. Daughter has no yeast, but still has sore throat. the odd ball thing about this germ is that we all get sore throats at night, that include the tongue. Your tongue hurts and is very sore. I gargled with salt water and it got rid of the pain for about 1/2 hour. Grrr...it's back...more gargling. > > My son is doing well, seems to have gotten rid of infection, round > > went well. Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: Jan My son is doing well, seems to have gotten rid of infection, round went well. He's coming down with cold number two now. We had a few days of " no cold " . So he's back on ole/gse ===>Jan, I meant to say the last time you brought this up and reported how much OLE you're giving your son...that I didn't think it was high enough. We use 500 mgs (1cap AM and PM) of 12% OLE per day and she has not missed one day of school. If a cold does threaten we add in another OLE in the middle of the day and in two days the symptoms are gone, but that is a lot more than what I think you were giving. For us, it doesn't produce yeast and I think we're not dealing with any viral load at this time (but hate to say that for fear of jinxing ourselves). You could try much more OLE for yourself. We use Nature's Way, 60 capsules for about $4.75, very inexpensive. Hope you're better. My trouble is with me/dh and older child. We still are having trouble with the throat. Most of the congestion is gone, but what is happening is that at night we are getting tongue/tonsil pain/ sore throats. I had gone back on OLE and put them on it too, and mine seemed almost gone, but last night it was sore again, and this morning my right tonsil hurts, red inflamed etc. So something is lingering...not sure what we are missing aside from antibiotics. Which I don't want to use. There are no fevers. I am off adrenal support temporarily to do a test this coming week but have been experiencing nausea at night. I am not sure if that is from the adrenals or the throat issue. Currently taking: gse/ole in the am, probiotic lunch, gse dinner, probiotic bedtime. Raw honey at night, elderberry syrup at night. Gargling with gse/water in the morning or whenever throat hurts or mouth feels thick. This has been going on since Thanksgiving. Do we need to cave in for antibiotics? > >>He improved a lot in the past > > week, should we increase his dose? > > > If you want. Guest guest
Ah yes..that was next..I got the Nature's way but I was only taking one cap a day..going to add more. My son was taking 1/4 cap a day..not enough I see. I wonder does OLE come in a more concentrated form because there's no way the little guy is going to eat that much of this powder. He doesn't swallow them and balks at the bit of OLE he gets now. Drops maybe? Anyway..my new friend this winter ....OLE > > >>He improved a lot in the past > > > week, should we increase his dose? > > > > > > If you want. Have you tried teaching him to swallow using tic tacs put in something soft? I think I remember him being pretty orally defensive, right? I'm using it also, as well as a little more D, we're in the heighth of flu season in Ohio (one school just closed due to flu) and I'm still at no colds for the year. Guest guest
craming in the D myself too. Everyone's on it in my house. No flu here. I'd take this cold stuff any day over that. He is very orally defensive. He can swallow but but he won't. I have caught him swallowing gummi vitamins before. He refuses to swallow even tiny pills. But I'll keep trying. I tried to get him to take chewable probiotics, all he did was lick them a few times and tell me now way. Do you think he could use more than the 500IU of D in his CLO? He's 50 pounds now. > > > >>He improved a lot in the past > > > > week, should we increase his dose? > > > > > > > > > If you want. He's 50 pounds now. ===>Yes, our 53 lber gets 1000 IU in the winter (we're in the NE) and 500 IU in the summer. This from 2 tsps of GP clo, liquid, we can't do the capsules, something in them that gives her excema. > > > >>He improved a lot in the past > > > > week, should we increase his dose? > > > > > > > > > If you want. Guest guest
Ok, will add more D for him. He takes the clo well, so I can increase that for the winter. We are in the tundra too. Just miles of missing that huge ice storm! > > > > >>He improved a lot in the past > > > > > week, should we increase his dose? > > > > > > > > > > > > If you want. Both viruses and yeast did tend to migrate around on their way out, so it might be that. Dana

Depending on your child's personality, you might have success with what I did for my #3. I taught him how to swallow capsules, and then I gave him the option. Either I mix the supplements into peanut butter and honey, or he can swallow the capsules. For a looooooong time, he chose the mixture. But after a while, he started asking me which ones were the ones that tasted horrid. He would choose to take those as capsules, and the rest as mixture. Then he moved to taking all of them as capsules. He likes being in control, so this worked well for both of us. This was also my child who would refuse supplements if he knew they made him feel bad, so we worked on a compromise with that also. He helped me determine which ones were no longer needed.
