Yes. My dh trying to be supportive, bought it for me when it first

came out - he thought the title was great. I think he wishes there

were more Father Warriors out there, or that the book would have been

titled " Parent Warriors " . We made sure our son's grandparents all

read it, too, and I think it was eye opening for them. My MIL is one

of our biggest champions these days - and I never would have expected

that. I hope goes more into mercury, toxins, chelation, in a

future book. I think she is cautious to not overwhelm the general

public with too much, too soon, and be written off as a too " out

there " , although that is happening to some degree. Since she is

making noise, autism is at least getting onto some people's radar.

I liked the part of 's book about how after she was well into

her son's healing she was having panic attacks because she had never

dealt with all any of the emotions: fear, anger, etc. I was so

relieved to know that I wasn't the only one. I went through the exact

same thing - panic attacks and all. Acupuncture, meditation, and a

few sessions with a holistic psychologist helped me sort things out

and find my center again. In my case, I had never, ever allowed

myself to feel sad or angry about my son's diagnosis - because the

same week he was diagnosed, a close friend of mine's 4 yr old son

died. That put things into perspective for me and dh. However, I

felt guilty if I allowed myself to feel sad or angry for my son, or

frustrated or ANY negative emotion related to his issues: after all I

still HAD MY son, how DARE I be anything but grateful?

Haven't read " Autism Heroes " - have to put that on my wish list.

I would LOVE to hear the cliff notes of that book about the Hep. B vaccine!  Our

DAN feels strongly that our son's problems began there.  Can you please share

some key points?  What is the title of the book?

I bought the book 1/2 price at B & N on Tuesday and am almost done.

I LOVE the mom stories speaking the truth. Amazing how similar our

stories are of moms blazing the trails and helping our kids while

doctors ignore, ridicule and stand in our way.

I agree, it is a huge hope-building book! and very intersted about

behind the scene facts.

When Your Doctor is Wrong, Hepatitis B Vaccine and Autism (Paperback)

It's Judy's journey with her son after he got seizures and extremely ill from

the Hep. B shot. It's a book I couldn't stop reading because of the

similarities between her son and my daughter. For some kids that have problems

from the start, this is the explanation. My child had all the problems her son

had, and it was not until I read this book that I was 100% sure her adverse

reaction came from the Hep. B and the others just compounded the problem. Her

story made me feel somewhat validated knowing that my daughter and my family are

not totally alone in the nightmare of illness that my daughter suffered from

that vaccine.............

Another similar book, Recovering Autistic Children, by Edelman &

Rimland is available from ARI at autism.com. Has maybe 50 recovery

stories and is an excellent read. I have post-its stuck all over mine

with circles of supplements and therapies I want to try. Lots of good

ideas. And, yes, it is very interesting to read of the similarities

in how the kids became autistic, and how the parents responded.

Judy Converse's book was really powerful. I read it straight through. This

is such an insane thing, these vaccinations.

Blessings to you Kathy. What an experience. Makes our regression

experience look 'tame'.
