Guest guest
We added ALA to DMSA this weekend and it looks as though it's made my son's stomach ache. He's still his happy go lucky self, but I can tell his stomach isn't quite right. We are battling yeast (and losing at the moment) - so I don't know if it's yeast or the ALA specifically. I gave him some magnesium after the last dose. But for those who give something with the ALA, what do you give? And what kind of dose would you give with 8mg ALA? Thank you!! Guest guest
Interesting. Did you see my message about 20 msgs. ago? I was having the same problem with my son. He is still having the stomach aches. It doesn't seem that bad so we are continuing, but I would like to know why too. Guest guest
Hi , I have been researching this now that you said the same thing. It appears ALA may cause low blood glucose or hypoglycemia or maybe I read it wrong that it causes low blood sugar when you already have hypoglycemia. It seems we may need to lower the dose because a stomach ache is the side effect of excessive ALA. Another thing I have thought about is that the brand of ALA I have has no fillers (magnesium stearate) and may be more potent because of that. I have read that lubricants such as magnesium stearate can hinder absorption and make a supplement less effective. Perhaps this is one reason why we need a lower than recommended dose. Let me know if you find out anything else. Thanks, Liz > > > > We added ALA to DMSA this weekend and it looks as though it's made > my son's > > stomach ache. Guest guest
Hi, I have successfully used alkalised water during the night dosings (eg adding trisalts with a little stevia to sweeten). na > > > > > > We added ALA to DMSA this weekend and it looks as though it's > made > > my son's > > > stomach ache.
