Guest guest
Hi Chana, Comments interspersed. S S Re: Hair Test - Please help interpret Posted by: " ds8440 " ds8440@... ds8440 Wed Dec 17, 2008 11:14 am (PST) Than you . 1. My kids are vaccinated - though not the flu shot. How long do I have to wait to chelate? *3 months is what Andy recommends, I think. 2. I have amalgams, and with pregnancy/nursing can't do too much yet about this, but this shouldn't affect my kids, should it? *It would have affected them in utero if you had the amalgams while you were pregnant with them. Don't get any dental work done while you're nursing this one. Maybe the nurshing one? *Yes, but nursing is important for the immune system. 3. We don't eat a lot of fish, and tuna - several times a year. *Good. 4. My kids have no dental fillings. And I got them all organic mattresses. Good. 5. I'm in Canada. *I'm pretty sure you can order from www.vrp.com from Canada. I don't know if ALA is readily available in Canada or not, probably. Others on the list will know. 6. How can I know if my furniture has stuff on it? How do I test for it? *If it's upholstered it probably does. Is there any kind of tag that mentions flame retardant? The website of the company that may have info or you might be able to call the company and ask what kind of flame retardant and stain resistant they treat their products with. Is there someone who can check my house not only for lead, but arsenic, antimony, tin... *Not that I know of. I checked danasview. Are regular batteries and recharagble ones bad? *Batteries that contain mercury are now required to state that they do (on both the battery and the packaging, I think). Ni-Cad and lithium batteries are better than the old mercury ones or lead ones. What do I use then? Should I not allow them to touch coins for silver? Nothing in the silver really applies, how can I remove it? *I think silver is one of those that will reduce on it's own as you address some of the others. For each item that my son has there are differnt chelating agents listed. Most don't overlap. Am I supposed to chelate with several things at once? *Many chelate with DMSA and ALA for lead, mercury and arsenic and the others go down on their own and the total toxic load decreases and the body heals. I need some guidance here. What's the most important thing to start with? With elements, and which minerals? *With disordered mineral transport the minerals don't reflect whether the person is getting enough or not, just that the body isn't using them properly. Andy has a list of recommended supplements. 7. What kind of doctor should I see? *Many of us chelate and supplement without a doc because so many of them don't understand proper, safe protocol. If you choose to use a doc you still need to educate yourself so that you know more than the doc about what's safe. 8. Would homeopathy chelating be effective? *I personally avoid homeopathy. I have mercury and arsenic poisoning, I don't want to purposely introduce any amount of those into my body, no matter how small or even if it's just the essence. To me that's way too similar to vaccines with the belief that same cures same, no thanks. Is regular Chelating really safe? *If done using Andy's protocol (low, frequent dose). I know this sounds funny after giving vaccines. But I have never done this before and I'm a bit nervous, especially when I don't know of a local doctor/ natural doctor, who I can get my kids checked with to make sure it's going fine. *Some people chelate on their own but do have a doctor on board to run tests from time to time. Many docs want to run way too many tests that aren't particularly useful and aren't covered by insurance. Guest guest
Thanks so much . Time to do some serious reading now. Especially since my DH isn't totally on board with this. Too extreme for him, (several months ago, I would've said the same about myself, so I understand him.) I'm going to start, but am a bit nervous.
