Guest guest
Well, since DS14's eyes were not getting any better (although they were not getting any worse either, not severely red), there was this nonspecific cough at times (he has asthma, but his peak flow levels were normal), and I saw this tiny yellow phlegm on his bathroom sink (yuck!), I decided to take him to the pediatrician yesterday. She looked him over and said there was a sinus infection starting and, although it was not severe, she was going to prescribe antibiotics. It has been 4 months since we have started learning about biomedical interventions for DS, and have started on this journey, so I am not looking forward to giving him antibiotics, as you all can imagine. (We are not chelating yet, but cant wait to start!) I have read here about giving OLE for bacteria, so I bought 250 mg capsules and gave him half of that yesterday and 1 capsule today. Not seeing any gains yet, but I am hopeful. I increased his OoO to 20 drops, 2x day (total 40 drops a day), in case the OLE caused more yeast. Anyway, my question would be: DS14 weights 150 lbs. Do you think 250 mg may be enough to conquer this sinus infection? Should I try giving him more, or is it too much? What else could I give him, if anything, to try to avoid the antibiotics route? I did stop by the pharmacy and looked at the antibiotic the doctor prescribed (amoxixillin) and it has a dye, yellow #10 in it. The pharmacist said I was not going to find it without any die. Ugh! Regards, Fani ---------------------------------------- Thank you for your input, , that totally makes sense, of course. Giving it a bit more thought, once when DS14 was a toddler he had a similar presentation, in one of his eyes only. Back then, the pediatrician said that it could be a virus going in through his eye. He did develop the flu over the next few days, so who knows? DS has been snoring a little at night and has coughed a few times as well over the past couple of days in addition to the red eyes.... We had his liver function tested via blood test a few weeks ago, so that may not be the problem right now? I will be sure to check his blood pressure. If this persists I will take him to the ophthalmologist, then. All the best, Fani Sun Nov 30, 2008 2:29 pm (PST) I think you first rule out infection and then you might want to check his blood pressure and liver function. There might be pressure building up in the eyes due to hypertension. Try giving one capsule 2-3x per day, see if that helps. Dana
