Hello,

My son's ION profile recommends he can benefit from Lipoic acid. Can I

give him 100 mg of ALA once per day not with the intention of following

any chelation protocol but just as part of his daily supplementation?

===>No, you can't or shouldn't, or wouldn't want to. The Ala won't know why

you are giving it and it will do more than one thing, whatever the ION said it

was good for and it will mobilize and redistribute mercury and move it to parts

of the body you don't want.

If you want to use Ala, use the recommended dosage of 1/8 mg per lb, every 3

hours during the day, every 4 at night, for a minimum of 66 hours.

My son is 2 yrs and weighs 28 lbs.

Thanks,

Maya.

is correct.

It has been well proven in a number of studies that ALA if used

infrequently (ie ignoring its half life - like giving it once a day)

will cause a concentration of heavy metals in organs, which includes in

the brain.

But studies aside, I know of one family that decided Cutler protocol was

too difficult, so they went ahead and gave ALA once a day, and their

autistic son regressed and got a whole lot worse and started having

severe seizures.

So if you do it once a day, you are taking a BIG gamble with your son's

health.

there are other antioxidants to use besides this one.

Ala is powerful stuff...it took me two years to tolerate 5mg without

headaches..I'd never advise anyone to take 100mg let alone take it not

as a chelator.

Hello,

give him 100 mg of ALA once per day not with the intention of following

any chelation protocol but just as part of his daily supplementation?

*No, ALA (alpha lipoic acid) is a chelator, it will chelate regardless of what

you give it for. It needs to be given at 1/8-1/2 mg per lb every 3 hours during

the day and every 4 hours at night for 3 days and nights " on " and at least as

long " off " . 14 mg would be the maximum dose for your child at his current

weight and you should work up to that , not start at it.

My son is 2 yrs and weighs 28 lbs.

Thanks,

Maya.
