Guest guest
Dear Forum, Greetings. I really appreciate the efforts have been taken by World Vision and its team. It is need of the hour as we have to put more focussed efforts to sensitise the HIV/AIDS and children related issues I have few more issues related with this most underprivileged children 1) They are also care providers to their HIV infected single or both parents 2) They are the one drop outs from schools or engage in child labour 3) There are more chances of trafikking them and child marriage due to their parent's infection 4) No proper nutritional care and imbalanced nutritional support between infected children and affected children it creats siblings rivalry at visible in home level so nutritional and any other special attendtion to be given to OVC in general at individual home settings 5) More burden to the grand parents those who really need a support but in reality they are the care providers to OVC if both parents are not alive or take care of this OVC so physically and economically also aged grand parents are need support and they are not able to provide proper medical follow ups when and as required to this OVC in villages 6) So the policy should be drafted to provide additional social security to this aged grand parents they are the only support to this OVC in indian settings 7) Government should encourage the local social welfare departments to take care of this OVC and their care takers either single parents or aged grand parents so we have to start this mission to bring more focussed discussion and solution to OVC in HIV/AIDS care and support programmes.
