Invitation to Advocacy Event " Interface between Parliamentarians and Women and

Children on passing of the HIV/AIDS Bill "

Dear Colleague,

We are pleased to share you the report on " Interface between Parliamentarians

and Women and Children affected by HIV/AIDS " which was organised by Plan India

on 9th July 2009 at IHC, New Delhi.

The programme was organized to provide a platform to women and children affected

by HIV to raise their voice of concerns particularly passing of the HIV/AIDS in

front of the parliamentarians. As follow up of the campaign Plan India in

association with UNESCO and Nai Umang Positive Welfare Society is organizing an

advocacy event " Interface between parliamentarians and women and children

affected by HIV " on 27th Nov. 2009 at Constitutional Club, Rafi Marg, New Delhi

from 11.00 to 2.00 p.m.

It is our great honour to invite you to attend the Advocacy Event. The proposed

event, involving children from across the country, will focus on the HIV/AIDS

Bill, which is pending ratification by the Parliament.

12.05 -12.15 ::Inaugural Speech by Mr. Fernandes, Senior Cngress Leader

and Chair Person of Parliamentary Forum on HIV and AIDS ( to be confirmed)

12.15 -12.30 :Introduction to the HIV/AIDS Bill (Special Provisions of Women and

Children)Presentation by Nai Umang/Lawyers Collective

12.30 – 13.25 :Interaction between Children and Parliamentarians

13.25 -13.35 :Address by Mr. Rahul Gandhi, Hon'ble Member of Parliament and

Indian National Congress Leader (to be confirmed)

13.25 -13.35 :Concluding remarks by Mr. Parsuramen, Director and UNESCO
