Background: Naz Foundation International (NFI) is an international development agency headquartered in the UK, with its regional programme office based in Lucknow, India, where it implements a regional programme of technical and institutional assistance to support its South Asia country partners to strengthen their capacity to support locally-based MSM and HIV and sexual health interventions in their countries. As a coalition response to the sexual health needs of MSM and hijras in South Asia (PSI Nepal, UNDP, NFI, and its four country partners), a South Asia multi-country regional application was made to the Global Fund on AIDS, TB and Malaria Round 9, which was secured. Countries engaged in this will be Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. NFI as a sub-recipient (SR) of this project, where PSI Nepal will be the principal recipient (PR), will be responsible for implementing the range of MSM/hijra technical assistance and support to the different countries through a process of Community strengthening, reducing vulnerability, and minimising risk of the further spread of HIV for men who have sex with men and transgender populations in South Asia. NFI Regional Office is now seeking to secure staff to implement the two-year Phase 1 of the project. Position description: The Assistant to the Regional Project Director will provide administrative and technical assistance and support to both the Regional Project Director and to the NFI Chief Executive (based at the NFI Regional Office). Summary of responsibilities: • Provide assistance and support in planning, developing and roll-out administrative and office procedures/policies for the Regional Project Director, and NFI's Chief Executive. • Is responsible for ensuring the smooth operations and day-to-day functioning of the Regional Project Director's Office, and the Chief Executive Office. • Assistant in analyzing administrative and operational functions of NFI Regional Office towards improving efficiency and reduction of costs. • Implements standard operating procedures and checklists for the NFI Regional Project Director. • Manage and provide oversight of all administrative functions and services to support the Regional Project Director, including secretarial, clerical and administrative services. • Maintains computerised and non-computerised information systems as required • Manage all conference, meeting and special event planning and related travel logistics for the Regional Project Director and NFI Chief Executive. • Ensure confidentiality of all office records. • Ensure coordination of travel for the Regional Programme Director and the Chief Executive, including the acquisition of appropriate travel authorization and documents, accommodations and airline tickets. • Other duties as assigned. Skills and Qualifications required: • BA/MA or equivalent experience in administration or related field • Knowledge and experience of working with MSM and transgenders in the field of HIV an sexual health • Broad range of skills and expertise in planning, budgeting, M & E, and other areas related to implementing a sexual health project for marginalised communities; • At least 3-5 years experience in a comparable position; • Proven ability to assist in the management and the operations of a large office; • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate people; • Outstanding interpersonal and oral and written communications skills; • Excellent computer skills, including word processing, Excel, PowerPoint Will report to the NFI Regional Project Director.
