Guest guest
Hi Dana. Thanks for your help. Stupidly, I started the GSE while using a new brand of DMSA (from vrp) along with ALA, both at a slightly higher dose than we usually chelate with. I know you are not supposed to start too many things at once. I gave the GSE after a light breakfast on Friday, before the start of the round, along with all of his usual supps, multis etc. After we gave the GSE, my son became very mellow, like he never was before. Probably, I should have tried the diluted route you mentioned. Generally he has no problems with phenols. He was perfectly behaved. Then a few hours later, he really refused to eat much for lunch, just some french fries, I gave the chelators and all of his afternoon supps on what amounted to very little food. After that he threw up. I never gave him anymore GSE after that am dose. I just continued on the round. Our son ate very little just some potato chips. I debated to stop the round yesterday mid way through, when he continued to refuse to eat, just chips and blackberries, he refused hamburgers, gfcf cookies, fries, all of his favorite foods, which worried me. But otherwise he was very happy, playing and using lots of language, My husband wanted us to continue since we are seeing such gains. Now it is Sunday, and it is the same scenario, just chips to eat, very happy. I have stopped all supps except liver support and his minerals during the round. Is it a likely scenario that the GSE was too strong, and upset his stomach from the get go, and we just compounded the problem by giving his usual supps and the chelators on top of an already upset stomach? What would be the smart thing to do? Just go back to the weaker anti fungal protocol for a few days, till his stomach is back? Should I suspend his multi vitamins for a day or so, since the b's I know are hard on the belly too? Then if we see the yeasty behavior return, try just a very diluted dose of GSE on a non chelation day? I know in retrospect what I did was stupid, but what's done is done, and I am just trying to figure out how to repair the damage, and how to go on from here, because I do feel that the GSE did help a lot with what was amounting to very yeast like behavior. Thanks. Irene

I know you are not supposed to start too many things at once. Don't worry about it too much. Sometimes things just happen. > Is it a likely scenario that the GSE was too strong, and upset his stomach from the get go, > and we just compounded the problem by giving his usual supps and the chelators on top > of an already upset stomach? That might be it. Or he might have had some significant yeast die off, which killed his appetite. You might consider activated charcoal about 30-45 minutes after the GSE, to address any die off issue. > What would be the smart thing to do? Maybe you can just switch to OoO, see if that works better for him. >>Should I suspend his multi vitamins for a day or so, > since the b's I know are hard on the belly too? Any time you remove something that helps, you risk another sort of problem. If it is just a standard multi, the doses of the Bs won't be that high anyway. Guest guest
Did he happen to take zinc with all that before he threw up. Zinc makes me really nauseus if I don't take it with food. It does sound like going lower with the gse, follow with probiotics four or more hours later...and work at getting him on it before the round...so you will know what is causing the problems. I do note on occasion in myself I have seen my appetite go to almost nothing on a round. I'm just not hungry. It is also possible he got that stomach bug that was going around a few days ago..it was very brief and didn't last long. No fever, just felt nauseous and didn't want to eat. It was really odd, then it past. It sounds like he fared ok overall though. > > Hi Dana. Thanks for your help.
