Guest guest
Friends, Re: /message/11286 At the outset let me say that I have no experience with many CCP's but whatever I am told about this in Amritsar (by PLHIV under my care),I have few comments to make regarding concerns raised by Dr.Ashok Rau. It is a fact that new patients are forced to get admitted in these for showing performance or whatever--those who refuse and can not stand this-rush to PP's like me. But when actual admissions are required they are never provided the care they need. The latest example is that one of JS, who was breathless and waited whole night outside GND, Hospital here, neither emergency nor CCC admitted him and the poor fellow ultimately landed with us in a private hospital, he remained admitted with us for almost ten days. The result is that although we got his investigations done from our pocket and even offered visits without fee etc yet despite our best counseling he was not ready to go to ART. This is the ground reality. I come across many, whom I force to go to ART center but come back as they do not want to be admitted, just to initiate ARV (as they are at times asymptomatic with low cd4's---less than recommended by NACP i.e 250) I am not writing this for any inquiry etc--I am just revealing the facts so that authorities who matter take the whole issue in broader prospective and I am writting this with malice towards none.
