Guest guest
I chimed in on a post about Pica recently. My son has been chewing his clothing non stop in the last couple of weeks. He was exhibiting none of his usual yeast like behavior, not too hyper, no real sensory seeking stuff, rolling on the carpet etc, not too much carb cravings. But this chewing thing kept getting worse. We had changed his vitamin formula (but only in the last week or so) with Brainchild Nutritionals to a strawberry flavored one, because he was not complying too well anymore with the non flavored. Then recently the giddiness started the crazy running, we started GSE and this all stopped, but not the chewing. Don't know what the heck they were using for flavoring but it made our boy a nut, the yeast beast, which is usually not a big problem for us, was crazy. This really surprised us because we had skipped a week of chelation for the holidays, which usually helps any yeast to subside for him. We increased his zinc to well beyond what even Andy recommends. So I do not think it was a zinc deficiency. We stopped the flavored formula too. Someone said to me that my son is 3 1/2 it could be molar related teething. I suppose this is possible. Is it possible for the signs of yeast to change in your child? Could this chewing thing be the way yeast is now manifesting itself? We stopped giving the strawberry formula, and the giddiness stopped. But the chewing has continued for days after we stopped the new formula and returned to the old. I thought maybe it was a phenol issue with the strawberry, but our son has taken NN strawberry flavored CLO for 2 years with no problems or reaction. Also, the chewing predated the use of the strawberry formula. We give 2000 mcg of biotin twice a day, we give GSE, one drop three times a day, and try to keep him on a low sugar diet. We give Candex at night, and Candidase, about one to two capsules per day, as needed. What else can we do to tame the yeast beast? We give about 200 billion cfus of probiotics as well. Has anyone encountered sudden non stop chewing like this before? It is so bad that his clothes become drenched, and chewed on until there are almost holes in it. Could it be something other than yeast? Would appreciate any advice or thoughts on this. It seems there is always some new problem, and this is the latest for us. Thanks. Strawberries and strawberry flavor would have been nasty for my son. >>Is it possible for the signs > of yeast to change in your child? This happened with my son, and also with me personally. At the beginning of biomedical, yeast caused one set of symptoms. As biomedical progressed, yeast caused other symptoms, then other symptoms. So yes, yeast symptoms change over time. >>Could this chewing thing be the way > yeast is now manifesting itself?
