The brain itself has no pain receptors - at all. Pain never comes

from within the brain as you can literally slip your hand into the

brain (during neurosurgery) and the patient would feel nothing as

there are no receptors to convey touch, pain, temperature,

vibration...

" Headache " is caused irritation of the protetcive linings surrounding

the brain (meninges) and/or the blood vessels to the brain (there are

nerve endings surrounding these that can be stimulated when vessels

contract and expand);

alternatively - tension headaches can emerge from eye starin and

muscle strain.

90% of headaches are muscle contraction or migraine

The differential diagnosis for headaches is long;

google " emedicine headache " for more information.

I had a girl in my class who had horrible migrane headaches and was put on a

diet that removed all foods and added one at a time whole foods only. It helped

for a little. She was working at a mall one hour photo place and I told her I

bet those headaches will go away if you get out of that chemical filled place

and once she quit they went away. She eats normal now and has no headaches. I

should have become a doctor! haha
