Flaxseed oil, hempseed oil, or there's a product which has a combination of

flaxseed, evening primrose, and borage oil. It's made by Health From the Sun,

is in a black bottle with a red/yellow/orange logo, in the refrigerated

supplements case at the health food store.

Sources of EFA's besides fish oil?

I give my son CLO, the NN children's DHA liquid, about 2 tsps. I

wanted to him have more EPA and DHA than this contains. I gave him

the Omega 3/6/9 formulation of the fish oil from NN. This helped a

lot with speech, but little by little we started to see lots of

eczema, probably from the vitamin E content, as our son is extremely

reactive to soy. Most fish oils from what I can see have some type of

vitamin E content. If there is a formulation out there that does not

have soy derivatives, I would appreciate it if someone could tell me

about it.

If fish oil is out of the question, what else delivers the EFA's ? I

bought flaxseed oil, will this do it? What about primrose oil? What

have people experienced? I know posted that flaxseed was a

disaster for her child. I am working our way slowly through the mito

cocktail, so I am hopeful he will tolerate one of these oils. How

much do you give to a 30 lb child?

Is there anything else I am overlooking?

Would appreciate some help. Thanks. Irene

We use Nordic Naturals Omega 369. It has borage oil, etc in it.

Thanks,

Maya

I heard from someone that Kirland's CLO has vit E NOT derived from

soy, but haven't followed up on confirming that yet. Anything that

may contain soy scares me.

My son is very allergic to soy, too. When we tried NN (on the advice

of a DAN Dr. who knew he was severely soy allergic!! We do our own

research now, and fired the DAN Dr.) he was covered in a rash within

2 days, and his behavior went downhill. It took us almost 2 months to

get him back on track.

Hope that helps some, I understand your frustration.
