Guest guest
Can your child swallow capsules or pills? I do Brainchild for that reason plus they make a great product. But then individual is also needed. How old? Tammy [ ] Multi-Vitamin or Seperate? Which is better, to give a multi or to seperate out the vitamins? Guest guest
It's a pretty individual thing. We used to do a multi until we started biomed and mito cocktail. Then, I wanted more control over exact amounts and went to individuals. It was easier to tailor it to multiple kids that way. Guest guest
She's 28 months, and I don't think I can get her to do a capsule. I like most of brainchild's ingredients, but I have some concerns over things like the Vitamin C, that it's calcium ascorbate instead of sodium ascorbate. Otherwise it seems to be good. I was also just wondering if it's better to seperate things > > Can your child swallow capsules or pills? I do Brainchild for that reason > plus they make a great product. For many years now, I have used the rule of thumb that iron and calcium should not be taken together and to separate by at least 30 minutes. More recently, I have read that they should be separated by at least 2 hours. Most of the time, I take one of these in the evening and the other in the morning, to take them far apart. I also discourage drinking milk while eating beef at dinner and try to make sure that I do not take iron right after eating yogurt or cheese. So when I see a multivitamin that contains both iron and calcium, I generally assume they are cancelling each other out and not accomplishing much of anything. Some vitamins need to be taken with specific others to get the most benefit. Some need to be separated from others to get the most benefit. I have paid the most attention to those things that I have a big issue with. For example, I wrestle with anemia. This is why I am so picky about taking my iron separate from my calcium. We tried a lot of them and there are a million out there, Brainchild's got the thumbs down from our 4 year old, too icky. If not, then individual.
