JOB DESCRIPTION RNTCP TB & HIV Coordination Consultant, New Delhi 1. Positions Vacant: RNTCP TB & HIV Coordination Consultant (TBHIVCC; 1 vacancy; New Delhi) 2. Background/ Organization: The World Health Organization (WHO), India, is seeking experienced professionals for Senior, National level, vacancies with the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP), based at the Central TB Division (CTD), New Delhi. The Central TB Division (CTD), a part of the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, with the technical assistance of the World Health Organization, India, is implementing the Government of India's Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP). RNTCP is a professionally managed and respected national health programme, making a difference to the lives of millions of TB patients in India. The program comprises of five levels; National, State, District, Sub-district and Peripheral health institutions. The Central TB Division (CTD) is overall responsible for tuberculosis control at the national level. 3. Job Description/ Responsibilities: Under the general technical and administrative supervision of the Deputy Director General (DDG-TB), MoH & FW, GoI and WHO India, the TB & HIV Coordination Consultant shall perform the following job duties - Responsibilities: (1) Provide technical support to CTD for the effective implementation of TB/HIV collaborative activities as outlined in national policy documents (2) Support CTD in policy development on TB/HIV collaborative activities (3) Facilitate close coordination with the National AIDS Control Organization and other partners for optimal implementation of TB/HIV collaborative activities (4) Provide technical support to CTD for the supervision, monitoring and evaluation of TB/HIV collaborative activities (5) In collaboration with training experts, developing high quality training material on TB/HIV for all levels of programme and health staff, also provide assistance with the integration of training material into routine RNTCP training activities and revise training materials as needed to reflect current national policies (6) Provide technical guidance for effective TB/HIV activity implementation to State and district programme officers and field consultants (7) Provide technical support to CTD for TB/HIV related operational research (8) Support CTD in the internal evaluation of RNTCP implementation at State and District levels, with attention to TB/HIV collaboration (9) Provide a monthly report and an end-of-assignment report in the prescribed formats on activities, achievements, challenges and recommendations (10) Perform other duties as required in the interests of the programme 4. Qualifications and Experience: Qualifications: Post-Graduate degree in Public Health, Community Medicine, Medicine, Chest Disease or equivalent Experience: (1) Minimum five years of experience in the health sector (2) At least two years of field experience working with public health programmes, and for collaboration between public health programmes (3) Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation and of HIV infection and tuberculosis programmes is highly desirable. 5. Skills and Attributes: (1) Good oral and written communication skills (2) Strong team orientation (3) Ability to work independently, with minimum handholding and supervision (4) Energetic, resilient and passionate (5) Professional, mature and confident 6. Compensation Offered: Gross remuneration has been budgeted at Rs. 10.7 lacs p.a.
