Guest guest
Not sure I get what you mean. Do you mean you are reading actual names for the different supplements and wondering which ones to choose? Or are you looking for supplements and finding the different combinations and names? And, now you are wondering if the ones you choose are the correct ones? P. Guest guest
Not an expert here, just thinking loudly. Some supplements when combined support absorption - for example and calcium and mag. Others might be able to tell you more about differences between the diff types of B12, etc. Blessings Helen ________________________________ From: P. <the.great.zambini@...> Sent: Saturday, 1 November, 2008 2:23:52 PM Subject: Re: [ ] supplements-whats the difference? Guest guest
> Vit C w/ bioflavonoids/calcium/magnesium-why can't he take just Vit C? You can use a straight vitamin C if you want. Bioflavenoids are another form of C. Cal/mag can be added to C to make it " buffered " , which is usually easier on the gut, altho my son did poorly on buffered C. > Mythl B12/transdermal B12-I gave him disolve drops that are just plain ol B12. I used " plain ol' B12 " at first, but my son did best with mB12, oral/sublingual tablets. It required folic acid and carnitine for proper absorption, and did tend to increase yeast. > I am wondering here if I'm doin any good for him or just teachin him how to swallow pills effectively. Well, teaching a child how to effectively swallow pills is a good thing to teach. Dana
Guest guest
You are an endless supply of know how! I read your comments & it shocks me that all that info is in one persons brain! I'm thankful for you-just wanted you to know that! Its just so stinkin frustrating knowing that he has deffiencies that can be fixed w/ a supplemnt, but I have to wait to give it to him so I can figure out which ones help, hinder or are neutral. I'd like a 'start w/ this one & a step by step of which supp to do w/ him 1-10 guide' to help my ever exploding brain comprehend all these things that have taken my little boys permanent smile away. I don't like the guessing game! PERSOANL NOTE: last night, during our short stint trick or treating w/ the fam, Miles came up for a hug (more of a stimulus need than a snuggle-I use it for the snuggle) & as he was getting the squeeze my dad noticed Miles had closed his eyes & smiled. I didn't get to see it, but I caused it, so just wanted to share. Sometimes I focus all on the healing & don't take the time out to enjoy the little moments that heal me. > > Vit C w/ bioflavonoids/calcium/magnesium-why can't he take just Vit C? > > > You can use a straight vitamin C if you want. I started by observing symptoms, doing a lot of research, and posting messages asking what helped other people. Many times, the supps that were recommended, caused problems for my son, so I had to figure out why. Most of the time, it was because *other* supps were needed to help with proper absorption of the supps he needed. Yes, very frustrating. >>I'd like a 'start w/ this one & a step by step of which supp to do w/ him 1-10 guide' to help my ever exploding brain comprehend all these things that have taken my little boys permanent smile away. I don't like the guessing game! I didn't either. But when I started, apparently no one knew the information I needed. This message board has generally been the most helpful tho. He sounds like a very nice boy. We went to a western-theme harvest festival on Friday evening. My son had his face painted [and I have a picture, very big smile!], did ring toss, pin the face on the pumpkin, bounce house, and several other things. Had a lot of fun. My kids ate a LOT of candy. I gave them one probiotic each [10 billion] just in case of any yeast issues, and they slept like bricks all night. Dana
