Guest guest
Hello, I was watching Discovery Health, Mystery Diagnosis and saw the special concerning Segawa's Dystonia or DRD which stands for Dopa- Responsive Dystonia. I have been reading up on the internet and have gone to the Beery's site. It sparked my interest because the woman's children were misdiagnosed with CP but once they were diagnosed correctly and given medication similar to L-Dopa they literally started to recover within 30 minutes with some of their comprehension. The story goes on to say that they were typical within 1 week. I went to their page (http://www.thebeerys.com/dystonia/default.aspx); this story is simply amazing!!!! It also makes you wonder about the Dopamine levels; their twins had low dopamine levels but once they were given the L-Dopa type drug, their CP symptoms went away. Early on, my daughter had the same symptoms and we had one doctor that thought she had CP. After starting on the biomed route, her hands and legs have straightened and she has a normal gait. We are know focusing on her other skills. All of these symptoms are so similar yet there are all of these separate diagnosis. Just wondering ..........
