Guest guest
I would like to premix ALA in a juice mixture. Will it remain stable mixed up in juice for about 12 hours? I find it really hard to manage all my sons supplements and like to premix bottles of juice, where possible and pour out small servings at certain times through out the day. Also, it is easier for me to measure out the 12 hour period's amount of ALA and then just shake and use a measuring cup for the immmediate dosage. Also, we are not doing DMSA at the time, but would be interested in tips to premix this as well. All tips are appreciated. Thanks.
Guest guest
FYI- There is a study showing ALA much better absorbed with 1-4 oz apple or white grape (Japanese study I think)... Anyway I know apples are dangerous, but I give my ALA with a little grape juice. I don't know if premixibg would " reduce " the ALA sorry. Guest guest
it's really a catch 22, I can see it being better absorbed with juice, but juice really feeds yeast something horrible. Maybe you could buy a small bottle of acai juice and mix it in something not so sweet that has supplement (vitamin/mineral) value. Don't know if you could taste it in there. I would also think applesauce would be a better choice. > > I would like to premix ALA in a juice mixture. Will it remain stable > mixed up in juice for about 12 hours? Guest guest
What we do is pre measure all the doses of chelator before beginning the round. I measure them out and put them into larger empty capsules and keep them in a ziplok bag. When it's time to dose, you open that capsule and mix it into whatever your going to give it in. That way it's fresh, there is no risk of it degrading in potency..nor does it taste worse from sitting around. Also pear juice does not feed yeast quite like other juices, so if you must use a lot of juice....see if pear will work. we don't use apple or applesauce because it's forbidden on Feingold. But you can give the ala in a tiny bit of juice in a medicine syringe. Others give it on a spoon mixed into something. I did try premixing int he beginning, but found that it tasted worse when the stuff had time to sit in the juice. > > > > > > I would like to premix ALA in a juice mixture. Guest guest
Thanks. My son and I are both chelating, so I think I will start 1 round before him so that I am prepared to handle my own symptoms and also so that I can taste the ALA and experiment with methods to administer. ) > > > > > > I would like to premix ALA in a juice mixture.
