Guest guest
HIV: `Kerala more at risk' THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The highly mobile and migratory nature of the people of Kerala poses the risk of them getting infected with HIV, if care is not taken. This shocking revelation was made by Dr Yamini Thankachi, public health consultant, in her talk on `Prevention, Care and Counselling of HIV/AIDS', which was organised by Club 25, Rotary Club of Trivandrum, State Bank of Travancore and Terumo Penpol Ltd as part of World AIDS Day. She said that the State being surrounded by three other high-prevalent states like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka increases this possibility. The virus keeps on changing its form and content, which makes the task of finding an effective cure for AIDS a near-impossible one, she said. http://www.expressbuzz.com/edition/story.aspx?Title=HIV:+%E2%80%98Kerala+more+at\ +risk%E2%80%99 & artid=gXoC111uNlU= & SectionID=lMx/b5mt1kU= & MainSectionID=lMx/b5mt1\ kU= & SEO= & SectionName=tm2kh5uDhixGlQvAG42A/07OVZOOEmts
