Dear Forum Members,

Every body should bows their heads in the society issue was happened in the

Chittoor dist of Andhra Pradesh.

The Chittoor MP Dr.Chintha Mohan has visited the SVRR Government Hospital, that

hospital already having ART Center but it was very congested and narrow space,

so the Clinton Foundation has came forward to help for re-modifying of this ART

Center.

The Clinton Foundation has supported nearly 5 lakhs rupees for remodeling of the

ART Center with help of hospital Superintend, Dist AIDS control board like as

Addl DM & HO  and Dist Positive Network People.

When the MP saw the construction of the New ART center and he has angry upon the

hospital superintend why you are given space for ART Center in the hospital

premises and he has suggested to locate the ART Center in outskirts of the city,

actually being himself as a Doctor but he has no clear idea on HIV/AIDS disease

how to spread and

control.

As per this issue the local Dist HIV Positive Network People committee went to

his house for requesting to locate the ART Center in the Government Hospital but

he has not taken their requisition, at the same time he has through out to them

with help security people and scold to them.

This issues all media papers and well wishers of social work to condemn his

words. Every day all delegates are fighting for PLHIV rights and accessible of

Treatment and other facilities as a common person in the Society, they have also

equal rights in all level.

All Politicians are given statements and messages to bring quality life among

the PLHIV is it correct? " Just think about it "

Please find the paper clippings; we can see   what step will be taken by NACO

and APSACS

Thanking you all...

MP’s objections over ART centre draws flak

March 31st, 2010

DC Correspondent

March 30: The Network for Chittoor District HIV+ People president, Mr C.

Muni-sekhar Reddy, on Tuesday alleged that the Tirupati MP, Dr Chinta Mohan, had

humiliated him when he had approached the MP at his residence not to shift the

ART (Anti Retroviral Therapy) Centre at the compound of the SVRR Government

Hospital here.

Addressing a press meet here, Mr Reddy said that with the help of the Clinton

Foundation and the National agencies, the ART centre was getting ready at the

compound of the SVRR hospital. “We made all arrangements to inaugurate the

centre on April 5 after carrying out the alterations and repairs to the existing

structure, about 20 ft away from the pediatric ward.”

Mr Reddy said that on March 27, the MP had visited the hospital and issued

instructions to the superintendent and the nodal officer of the AIDS control

project to stop inauguration of the ART centre. “Being an MP and himself a

doctor, Mr Chinta Mohan told the officials that the ART centre in the vicinity

of the pediatric ward would bring risk to the children’s health.”

His observations would prove detrimental to the sagging hopes of the HIV

patients and might prompt them to commit suicide, Mr Reddy deplored. “When I

approached the MP at his residence along with the functionaries of our forum to

request him not to stop the inauguration of the ART centre, he did not even take

the representation.”
