Veryy O/T swollen really itchy arches/feet & taste issues

Ok, very off-topic but husband is going nuts with this.

His arches on the bottom of feet begin slowly to swell and incredibly itch.

He thought it was hives because it's so itchy--but I can't see anything and

there's just one swollen area on each arch of his feet. He has no idea why

this is happening--he's considered whether it's the (cotton) socks or whether

it's something he came into contact with outside with bare feet. He said he

used to get it just a couple times yearly--for a day. It's really horribly

itchy. Now it's several times weekly, and even when the swelling and itching

subsides, it feels tender.

He's also had problems with his sense of taste and smell. He's been told

it's a smelling (olfactory) issue--nothing tastes right--chocolate, toothpaste,

someone smoking around him--are all intolerable. He says it's like he has a

foul taste in his mouth--like burnt tar. His dentist has ruled out any

dental issues.

His doctor prescribed Veramyst--a nasal allergy spray that he's been taking

and has done nothing. Next stop would be an ENT doctor.

We don't know if any of this is related. He thinks it's a dust and mold

allergy--but I don't know where he's getting this and--doesn't everyone to some

degree?

I said if anyone would have any ideas or experience with this, someone on

this list would.

Thanks for any and all ideas!
