Guest guest
Hi, Jan. Where did you get your 18/0 stainless? I'll be headed over to Target today with my magnet. :-) Do you find that the pot doesn't heat up evenly? I'm hoping to find ones with copper layer at the bottom (on the outside, of course) like I used to see. I was at JC Penney w/ my magnet, and I was surprised to find that 18/10 (or 18/8) that had aluminum in the middle stuck to the magnet! Unless they use some kind of aluminum that's magnetic... Thankfully the box said 18/10 (or 8), otherwise I would've probably bought it! Guest guest
When you do the magnet test, try it on different parts of the pot, including the ridge around the top, or " lip. " The magnetic attraction should be strong and equal at all points. If it's weak or present at some places on the pot and not others, then the pot is probably nickel-containing SS over an inner core of magnetic steel.
