Guest guest
, My kids don't have lyme since they are adopted but we all have been suffering from some virus that seems to have some of the same symptoms. My dd complained of her heels hurting, stomache, headache, diarrhea and these things come and go. It also goes into a cold and back and forth. Backaches, and feeling woozy. So, it could be lymne, but it could also be a virus going around. I live in MO. My whole family has had it and no one has lyme but me. Easy rememdy to tell is see if she herxs or is better w/the meds. Darren D Landon <dclando1@...> wrote: > > > I am so frustrated. Guest guest
Please take into consideration that my daughter had a positive PCR for Lyme. Which she received in 2002. Only had 28 days of IV Antibiotics and refused more. Okay so I am leaning towards Lyme...especially since she was born with it. I so appreciate the advice. Thankfully Dr. is going to have more testing done for her. I feel so much better tonight and appreciate all the advice. I am however a little weary with doctor since in 2001 when she saw him he felt she did not have Lyme cause she didn't look real sick like a lot of other children and her and Western Blot was negative other than a few questional bands...49 or 41 or something like that that was on all four of our tests. Right now I just don't know where else to turn. When she had the PCR test done at MDL she tested positive on the very first one. I am hoping she will be just as lucky this time...again thanks for all the advice. I have had my daughter seeing the school councilor and did ask the doctors here for her to see a psychiatrist but they felt it was not needed although they feel it is all behavioral. They feel the doctor will want to put her on depressants and I agree with them there that is not a good thing. Sigh...that is the way life is. I think some of 's anger also comes from having a pretty sick mommy. We are praying and hoping the answer will be found. But I however agree that it is probably good if the whole family works with a councilor to help deal with the illnesses in the family...thanks again for all the advice. Guest guest
Cyntha, My heart aches for you and your family. I will pray for you today. Regarding homeschooling.... if you're health is an issue then maybe an already prepared curriculum would work. There are SOOO many on the market. One with the lessons prepared, materials provided, and especially all of the answers! There are also accredited umbrella schools that work hand in hand with the parent - so many options! I believe it can be done, especially if your heart was already there and your daughter is showing such distress. Then you could tell if it was school while you persue the medical angle. You can do so much more academically in such less time homeschooling so it wouldn't necessarily take up the entire day. If she's so distressed at school I would wonder how much schooling she's getting anyway - the affective filter is a powerful thing in learning. And you can work at her level regardless of the " grade " she falls in agewise. We were already homeschooling when I was diagnosed with Lyme, so if you want to e-mail off-list that'd be fine. Beth jdeamohr@... [ ] getting worse I am so frustrated. I am unsure exactly if it is her Lyme acting up or behavioral...advice please. I think it is Lyme. She didn't scream going to school today but she peed her pants at recess this is so unlike her. She was complaining of her stomach and last night she was complaining of her heel hurting. I am afraid we might be headed for a bad streak for her. I am kind of scared because of her problems. I am hoping it is the Lyme and that she isn't being molest id or something. But I don't think so she is as far as I know with people all day, many of them. She says she isn't being teased or smacked around. She has been very clingy lately. She is lashing out at her sisters and us. Last time she was doing these kind of things when she was put on IV antibiotics she made a complete turn around...she wasn't quite as bad then...things are getting worse. I don't want to punish her if it is truly the Lyme and I don't want to send a wrong message. Also what if it is behavioral then I would be re enforcing her behavior. I have been crying the last two weeks not knowing what to do. But she is so bright...they are talking of later moving her up a grade. Since she is the age of most 2nd graders anyway..her birthday falls on October so like many kids she started school when she was almost 6. Last time she had trouble taking in information and processing it...this time it seems to be all psychological...but it is the complaining of her stomach ache and other pains that make me think Lyme. So you can tell which way I am leaning more towards. We are thinking of doing the home school thing because that is what we wanted to do for our children in the first place. We sent them to school because of my health. I don't think to well right now. Matter of fact it is sad...many of their grade level work I don't understand. And my kids are in 1st and 2nd grade. So how well can I do home schooling. IT is so hard right now what to do? I know you guys can only give advice right now but that would be very helpful. I need all the support I can get right now. My body is a mess and all it seems I have been doing is crying. Thanks everyone for listening. I am working on getting a hold of Dr. to see what he thinks. holding on everyday and proud of it, Cyntha Landon (Lyme) Idaho Myesha (Lyme) Celeste (twin, Lyme) and Landon (Lyme) all of us have positive Lyme PCR's. Is she aware of the discussions of moving her ahead a grade? How does she feel about leaving the kids that she is with. Does she have a lot of apprehension about not being the " brightest " student in her class when she makes the move? This could be quite upsetting to your daughter. Guest guest
Yes, we have been discussing with her about that. We are going to home school her when she reaches 5th grade. So we feel it may be the best. But we are taking all things into consideration. One of the reasons she is so ahead of other students is because we started home schooling her since she was 2 1/2 years old. So she knew a lot already. She is so ahead in her reading and math. But for now we have decided to keep her with the others until she makes the decision (she is working with some of the higher grade learning for a few hours). We are giving her time to think about it. The school said they don't usually like to do it but because of her case and because she seems to hate it right now they don't think she is being challenged enough. If she loved where she is at then they wouldn't recommend it. Right now though her behavior seems to be improving. She is constantly complaining of stomach and leg pain. So perhaps some of it was behavior. They have working part time with other kids a grade higher and she seems to be enjoying it but can also play and be with her friends she has already made. Thanks for your e-mail it was great. Cyntha Landon Idaho
Guest guest
Yea, I've been feeling like that two for 2-3 days now although today seems to be a bit better. [ ] Getting Worse I used to have ok days with times of die-off. Now I feel pretty horrible all the time. Yesterday I had my whole family here for Thanksgiving, all 13 of us, kids and grandkids. No one knew that I was so sick I could hardly stand up. I was fatigued, head was heavy and had a headache, terrible anxiety off and on, pains in my back, two knawing spots one right and one left in my middle. I felt that the anxiety and the lousy feeling was coming from these two spots. How strange. For now I am just doing the diet. I have not added anything in yet. I seem to be feeling this bad every day all day long. I might get a break or two for an hour or so here and there. Am I so sick just because I have systemic candida off the charts, or can this be die off every day for days and weeks on end. Does anyone else feel this bad on a daily basis????? Thanks for listening. Faith
Guest guest
If I had 13 people to feed foods I can't eat & all that much standing up work to do & commotion, I'd be sick & exhausted too. The acid reflux/heartburn for me has gotten worse the past few days but not anything else, thankfully. I stayed home alone yesterday & stayed on the diet. So far being on this diet for 3 months has eliminated huge amounts of aches & pains in joints, hands, feet, muscles. My hands used to be all stiffened up & I was dropping things...from scleroderma & arthritis. That's all gone now & it's wonderful! No more itching or rashes either which drove me crazy. I'd have more energy if I could get some decent sleep, I'm sure, but the reflux/heartburn keeps me awake too much which is exhausting. It's my worst problem aside from chronic low back/hip pain. Stress in and of itself can cause the body to create more healing symptoms because it is trying so hard to keep everything balanced when it is being bombarded by stress hormones, esp. higher adrenaline and cortisoe outputs. One of the best things you can do during those times is to stop, find a quiet place and take 3 deep slow breaths in a row (breath in and out very slowly). This will switch your body over from the sympathetic system to the parasympathetic system which will stop the flow of adrenaline and relax you. > > For now I am just doing the diet. Lie on the floor with your feet on a chair so your thighs are at a right angle to the seat of the chair and the calves of your legs are lying across the seat of the chair. It is as simple as that. > Am I so sick just because I have systemic candida off the charts, or > can this be die off every day for days and weeks on end. Does anyone > else feel this bad on a daily basis????? Thanks for listening. ==>I totally understand and know how you feel. My fight to cure candida back in the mid 1980s was horrendous. I had to stay on the diet for 6 months before I could even think about taking an antifungal. I lost my job because I was so sick, and I had to go on welfare. I was seeing my doctor every week day, and during one period of time I was losing 3 lbs. a day. You can read Bee's Personal Candida Story in the files. Hang in there Faith. You will get through this! ==>You could use some good enemas at this point to help your body detoxify better - start with the coffee one - see the Enema folder. I've felt like that many times these last years trying different diets. I've often felt like crying in the grocery store due to seeing all this wonderful food that I know I can't digest. I've had so much food go straight through me. It's very frightening. I've always been skinny and I also was anorexic as a teenager so it's a terrifying feeling for me to be loosing weight. It's probably a good idea to speak with a doctor if you've got a good one that's understanding. Also, I'm not sure yet if bentonite clay is recommended on this program but that is often the only thing that helps stop my stomach from freaking out. It usually fixes things within 24 hours for me cause it sucks up all toxins in the intestine and bowels. It's disgusting to drink though. lol. Well, good luck! Also, I sometimes talk with my stomach in meditation like many monks do (communicating directly to the body part that is having problems). For me it has proven very powerful to do so, even when the problem is strictly physical, the body mind connection has been very useful for me. Hope you'll feel better soon! ________________________________________________________________________________\ ___ You snooze, you lose. Guest guest
What condidtion are you taking it for? Three weeks is a REALLY short time to trial something. At least 6 months would be a realistic time frame. There is no need to wait any certain time to increase your dose. Years ago everyone automatically started at 4.5mg anyway but now many people prefer to start at a lower dose. In the case of MS, for example, some old symptoms may reoccur for a while but I`ve never heard of them staying or making anyone worse. If you can tolerate the immediate discomfort, whatever that may be, it will probably pass and you should feel much better. If it were me, I would double up now and see what happens! Good luck! Guest guest
I am sorry you are having trouble. I have been on LDN for more than 2 years and I would not take anything else. I have rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia, and ldn has totally stopped the progression of the disease. It is not cured,as when I stop taking ldn it revs up again (I foolishly thought I was healed and stopped taking it for a while...huge mistake). Initially I was frightened of it and built up apprehension while waiting for my prescription. No need for that. I started on 1.5 which did nothing for me. Then I went to 4.5 which was too much and really caused sleep issues. I now take 3.0 to 3.5 mg adjusting when I feel the need. LDN is a miracle drug in my book. It beats all the other RA drugs which have horrific side effects some of which can be fatal. Just don't give up. You haven't given LDN a fair chance as 1.5 mg is not working for you. Also, I get the 50 mg tablets and dilute one tablet with 50 ml of water. Then I measure out 3.5 mg (use a baby syringe from local pharmacy) and mix in a small amount of juice. This is the cheapest way as a one month supply of 50mg ldn will last close to a year. Also, it is the most effective way as you don't have problems with fillers or have to find a compounding pharmacy. I wish you the very best and hope you have an excellent outcome.
